This is a Brazilian ad for the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). I'm not sure if that has been posted but surely it amounts to very bad taste and naiivity?

What is the message supposed to be?

I don't see how it is related to wildlife. Looks like a take on 911 which is very very bad taste. Even if the planes were to represent birds, they still appear to be on the attack of a major city and again it doesn't represent wildlife.

WWF *did* know about the ad before the agency submitted it for an award, but then WWF rejected it, and for a while they said they never approved it, but now they're saying "yeah, okay, we approved it for a hot minute" and nobody has the nerve to take credit for the video version of the ad.

I'm surprised that this ad won an award at The One Show. It is quite disturbingly tasteless, versus being a thought-provoking branding strategy. I mean, I've put together some ads that resulted in a fair amount of hate mail, but this is some grand-scale touchy shit right here.

Also, they might be incredibly insensitive, but they aren't exactly wrong. The World is a bigger place than humans. Been here a lot longer and will remain well after we blow each other to smithereens.
