I saw this movie at the theatre a few hours ago. It is brilliant and gory and bloody,if u think SAW was nasty u havent seen nothin yet. I thought Halloween2 was extremely entertaining. Give me ur opinion if u seen it yet

Not a Rob Zombie fan.
I like the Hitchcock influences of the original. From what I've heard, Zombie turned the first one into a gore fest with back stories.

But admittedly, I haven't seen it yet.

As a die hard fan of the original (my first Horror movie EVER at the age of 6 and can't think how many times I've watched it since) I don't really wanna see Michael eat anything.

It's just not something he does (on film anyway).

I love all the "Halloween" films except for the third one. Instead of them remaking the movie, I'd rather have another sequel to the series.

between the simplicity of the original myers and the eerie tone of the theme music (not to mention jamie lee's "laurie"), the first two films will always be far more frightening to me than these two remakes.

ps - a halloween movie WITHOUT the them music is just any other horror movie with a killer wearing a mask. rob zombie's omission of that theme was something i seriously missed and hurt the film for me.

pps - any time a Halloween flick has a news-covered hostage scene with michael myers, somebody f'd up.

And a remake of Nightmare is so unnecessary.

All these remakes are doing is proving that Hollywood lacks creativity. They can't come up with anything new and original that is scary so they have to rehash old stuff (a lot of it not even remake-worthy).

One or two remakes once in a while=homage.
Almost every new movie being a remake=LAME.

Well i agree with u on the theme music part. The original H2 is still scary. U noticed the ending to the new one is similar to part 4?

spun more away from the psycho thriller aspects of MM and just shock value gore

not impressed with that style

MM is all about the psycho thrill - the reflections of our shadow selves that stir us emotionally - the excess hollywood blood and gore doesn't add to that in my opinion ...

so overall = FAIL

No thank you. I'm an "original" head when it comes to movies and not a happy camper when it comes to Hollywood trying to remake every damn thing just because they are too lazy to come up with something original that hasn't been done before. They need to leave the classic horror movies alone. And I thought that they went too far with remaking the "Amityville Horror", now this. As if remaking the original "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th" wasn't enough, they have to go and ruin all the sequels too. I'd rather sit at home, cut all the lights off, light some candles, and watch the original Halloween installments.

Seriously though, I agree with everything you said regarding the original flicks. If this is "Rob Zombies own vision", it's a shame he didn't pick another franchise to piss all over. OR do his OWN stuff. It's not like his other non-remake films were that bad...

I was not happy with this film! I was actually very disappointed! Rob Zombie did so well with the first one...then this. Blah!!!!
