My only OCD "thing" is locking my front door. I swear I lock it and I return in 2 seconds to check it again. I've done it up to 3 times before. Weird.

I am completely opposite.... I am always leaving the iron on, I never check doors are locked properly - once I went out for the day and left my front door wide open.
Just last week I went out for the whole day and when I returned there was a bad smell of gas - the grill was switched on. We had to open all the windows and go to the pub for dinner!

I actually think I would benefit from a little bit of OCD
Perhaps i'm getting dementia....

I live on the 5th floor I would go down to the 2nd floor then go back up to check to see if my door is locked and I know damn well it is....I check my bags a lot too.

I used to go through stages of ripping everything off all the shelves and then putting them back, thinking they were now better organised. Probably 95% of the things went back in exactly the same order but I still had to rip everything off.

If I start something I get very mad if I'm prevented from finishing it
(books are an exception, obviously )

dunno if that is OCD

My solution to this problem is to simply never start anything. Brilliant!

it's a horrible OCD but I have had nightmares about house fires and am terrified of them- i've never been in one though....strange

I am constantly doing this, too. But part of the problem is that I have in my life left candles burning, left the oven on, the stove on, the heater on, my guitar amplifier on, etc.

So I am not sure which is the bigger problem, the checking or the forgetfulness.
