Um, my friend just got back from a church camp and he's talking to me about how he's 'not really gay anymore' and trying to convince me to repent of my sins.
I don't know what to say to him

Because that's what you're stuck with so get over and suck my dick." You know? Seriously, though.... that really sucks I'm sorry

Yeah, about a year ago, he and I were talking on the phone and he brought up the possibility of trying to get back with his ex-wife. I thought, "Haven't you taken her through enough????" Fortunately, he left that alone.

I was shocked when my dad told us he held my older sister out of a three story window by her ankle when she was a newborn. He was going to drop her but was talked out of doing it by my uncle, his younger brother.
The disturbing part was that while he was telling us this story (my sister was that baby that he almost killed) he seems to recall it as a fond memory with a smile on his face. I was so disgusted, he didn't raise us, we met him when we were in our twenties. Thank God The silver lining to this dark story is that my mom who was there that day always told us that our dad loved my sister so all her life, that she was his favorite. She protected my sister in more ways than one.

All my friends have been so nutty through the years, there's little if anything, any one of them has done or said to surprise me in any way. My family, however, is a different story altogether. The things they never tell you as kids end up being a hoot to find out once you're all grown up:
1. My Gramps was a founding member of a nationally recognized theatre and had a career as a theatre actor in his younger years; yet that man always barked about how much he hated performing arts when I was growing up. He was always very disdainful people in the arts. Post-humously he now has all these awards and titles up his desceased wazoo for his efforts to spearhead opportunities for blacks in theatre. I thought he hated actors and artistic types 2. In rerospect watching my mom sew things when I was growing up, I realize now that she actually doesen't know how to use a modern day sewing machine, yet can hand sew a complicated garment like a Parisian couturier. 3. A sibling who I thought has spent their career as a very non-descript bureaucrat, with a daily life of pencil pushing drudgery has actually been working in covert operations for years, like Clark Kent & Bruce Wayne & shit. 4. My dad (who's old as Methuselem), had his first job when he was 5. He used to ride with my Great Gramps to sell ice blocks through their town (on a horse and buggy!!!!), folks didn't have electric fridges back then and had to have these big blocks for their "iceboxes". He still uses the word "icebox" instead of refrigerator to this day, and now I know why [Edited 8/4/09 21:35pm]
