I am sick of all the remakes out now but... I love the original series sooooo much, I know I'll be watching this.
It looks cheesy as hell - and more glammed up/less gritty than the original - but I'll probably love it. Can't wait!

Looks awful! Like High School Musical or something.
Really? Are they fucking up another film with a remake. The original Fame was edgy and the kids were not all pretty and cookie cutter. I mean, I hope that girl singing "On My Own," will do Coco justice and strip for the nasty photographer like in the original, or Debbie Allen drooling over Leroy's package during the audition...gritty shit like that. Did anyone catch American Dad when Roger recreates that whole Coco/Photography scene. I laughed my ass off. My friend didn't get the reference. All the other parts are linked to it. watching this now. Honestly - I really recommend it. Justin Lee Collins gets on my nerves slightly, but I love his 'Bring back...' shows. His 'Dallas' and 'The A Team'; ones were brilliant too!

Love it! That's what I'm talking about. These kids look hungry, dirty. Not these American Idol Clones bullshit. Besides, it looks Alan Parker isn't involved. I loved the original movie. I didn't watch the t.v. show.
I want to see this movie because Kherrington Payne from SYTYCD is going to be in it. She's gorgeous and amazing. MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! They must be trying to cash in on the High School musical shite Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

They could remake that movie a gazillion times, but they'll never top the original...

In fact, that was the point of the original movie. At the high school on which the movie was based, The School of the Performing Arts in New York (which was a public high school), there were a lot of underprivileged kids. How gritty can this new one be? It'll end up looking like that inane Bravo show about a prep school in New York. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
