I got a Vizio for our bedroom... It was a great price, and the picture is actually pretty good... I have no complaints about it at all! ~~~~~ Oh that voice...incredible....there should be a musical instrument called George Michael... ~~~~~

I'll say Emerson.
Although I've never heard of either. I suspect you're making these brands up as part of a cunning ruse.....

My parents got a 56 inch flatscreen vizio from SEARS bout a year and they've had no problem with it and it looks damn sharp. I believe it is a California based company.
I was so impressed with it I went and got a 36 inch for my bedroom. Cost bout 450.00 http://www.vizio.com/ The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Hell yeah, I had to order an hdmi cable just to see what the computer would look like and the games on the 36 inch is very impressive. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I'd go for the Vizio over the Emerson. I have a Philips, it's pretty good, no complaints, great picture. (And I got it at Wal-Mart great price! ) The only LOVE there is, IS the LOVE WE MAKE ~ Prince

Whatever you do, stay the hell away from a plasma of any kind. Go with an LCD if you can. Samsung, Panasonic are really good performers at decent prices. I like my 42" Dell LCD, but my Samsung 50" plasma, although the picture is gorgeous, was already burnt in the first year and I don't turn it on more than once a week.

Yep, the side bars from ESPN HD and the ticker at the bottom of the screen on most news channels now has burned into the screen which OF COURSE is not covered by the $600 extended warranty Best Buy talked me into.

I love my Samsung LCD 50" in my bedroom. I pay xtra for the HD channels on my satellite, but it's totally worth it. It's like night and day when I use to watch my old Sony 27" in the living room .

Thanks everyone. Once I got down to the store, and started looking at them,I changed my mind, and decided to get the Sony 32" BRAVIA LCD HD.

that's weird, we have a panasonic plasma, 7 years old and still going strong! It still looks beautiful when on, but you can see the slight screen burn from the ticker and ESPN's side bars mostly when you turn it off.

It doesn't have an "orbit" setting? On my tv i think you're talking about the "pixel shift" and I use it but it still burned in.

well, we got a 40 inch samsung LCD 2 yrs ago....it started to take longer & longer to turn on...finally it died! since we paid almost $2,000- for it we got it fixed...for $400- next time i buy a big ticket item...I will buy the extended warranty. or else NOT buy from samsung. oh yes, i have heard bad things about plasmas too,,like burn in & they generate alot of heat (my LCD does too)
