New TV,need opinions

So which brand do you think is better. Emerson or Vizio?

I got a Vizio for our bedroom... It was a great price, and the picture is actually pretty good... I have no complaints about it at all!

I would get the Vizio. They make good monitors and scanners.

My parents got a 56 inch flatscreen vizio from SEARS bout a year and they've had no problem with it and it looks damn sharp. I believe it is a California based company.

I was so impressed with it I went and got a 36 inch for my bedroom. Cost bout 450.00

Hell yeah, I had to order an hdmi cable just to see what the computer would look like and the games on the 36 inch is very impressive.

I'd go for the Vizio over the Emerson. I have a Philips, it's pretty good, no complaints, great picture. (And I got it at Wal-Mart great price! boxed)

Whatever you do, stay the hell away from a plasma of any kind. shake Go with an LCD if you can. Samsung, Panasonic are really good performers at decent prices. I like my 42" Dell LCD, but my Samsung 50" plasma, although the picture is gorgeous, was already burnt in the first year and I don't turn it on more than once a week. disbelief

I love my Samsung LCD 50" in my bedroom. I pay xtra for the HD channels on my satellite, but it's totally worth it. It's like night and day when I use to watch my old Sony 27" in the living room lol .

It still looks beautiful when on, but you can see the slight screen burn from the ticker and ESPN's side bars mostly when you turn it off. shrug

well, we got a 40 inch samsung LCD 2 yrs ago....it started to take longer & longer to turn on...finally it died! since we paid almost $2,000- for it we got it fixed...for $400- mad

next time i buy a big ticket item...I will buy the extended warranty. or else NOT buy from samsung.

oh yes, i have heard bad things about plasmas too,,like burn in & they generate alot of heat (my LCD does too) sad
