So I want to upgrade my computer speakers. I've had these logitech computer speakers for about 4 years now and its finally time to upgrade! I just want to know the best speakers were as far as sound quality, especially at higher volumes, but also ones that I can use in a dorm room Thanks!

As far as I know, Logitech makes the best ones as far as computers are concerned. Other than that,I agree with you and think that using a simple stereo system via mic jack is a good option, probably even much better soundwise than buying small computer speakers.
I´m going to buy a small amplifier soon and will simply connect my laptop to that amp.
