Yea, we wanna look good to them, but first & foremost we wanna look good, period But I think it ties in to what kind of person you want to be attractive to. I have never dated a girl like you describe who dresses very slutty (though that does get my attention, I admit it). So if a girl wants anything other than a double take from me she should be more conservative. A better example is people who dress very punk. It's not the normal standard of beauty, but they attract other people with mowhawks, piercings, tattoos, etc. That's what I mean though - it has to be about personal style for most people. You're not gonna catch someone wearing short skirts & tank tops all the time if she herself doesn't like that look also. Now maybe the short skirt girl learned early on that wearing that would get her more attention from men (duh!) so she's made it part of her permanent repertoire. But I do think most people wear what they like & hope someone finds them attractive in it

Women in general are definitely doing things to impress other women when it comes to material shit, but overall most things women do in terms of appearance is to attract men and be better than their competition. But if the entire point was to attract men, we wouldn't have to put much thought into a "look" at all - we'd just make sure our tits were always out & our asses were always showing But most of us (you included, dammit!) know it's about more than that. Yea, we wanna look good to them, but first & foremost we wanna look good, period I didn't say it was the entire point. I did say that women dress for other women as well. And if it was not so called morally shameful to have your tits and ass always showing - women would do that too! We pretty much do that now anyway.

As I said somewhere above, I think the girls who dress in miniskirts & tons of makeup & huge cleavage think that is pretty, too. I guess the misunderstanding here is that I agree people pick styles that they like themselves, but I believe that still ties into attracting a certain type of person who also appreciates that style. So basically I think both sides are right. We pick styles we like, and use it to be attractive. My Legacy

You think men do things like spend tens of thousands of dollars on tacky, overpriced cars... ride loud motorcycles... buy gigantic houses and all sorts of toys they can barely afford... lose their shirts in risky investments... wear all designer clothes or baggy gear, grills and $100+ sneakers... brag, spit and/or curse in public... join frats, country clubs and gangs... try to assert their alpha maleness throughout life to the point they wind up emotionally isolated, sick, dead or in jail... instigate wars... devote themselves to pointless sports... or practically live in gyms with other sweaty, half-naked men trying to get musclebound to attract women? Think again. [Edited 7/14/09 10:11am] that's done to attract men. One puts his manliness wherever he can. Cars as a substitute for manhood isn't new. [Edited 7/15/09 16:16pm] Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

A nice stylish handbag does not hurt....
I like 2 give compliments, 2 open conversation...and if I notice her handbag Is cute, I tell her.... Kind of like how a woman notices a mans shoes...I notice the handbag, or the finger nails(a french manni is so fuckin' sexy)...

I definitely pick certain colors to wear that I think are going to accentuate my eyes or pick low cut tops to show off my cleavage. These are all things I do to stand out to men. But I promise you that I've never picked out a handbag with the thought of impressing a man. Shake it til ya make it

I don't know why...because as far as I've always known a woman doesn't purchase a handbag in order to attract a man. It's a matter of what is pleasing to them and not any happenstance man that happens to flail along
