It is? Well it happened to me and my friend so that's news to me. And who are you calling a fake? Were you there with us? I think not! That's funny cause I actually met somebody who works on that show so maybe he copied my life a bit.

CHICKEN WINGS!!

as hot as they come, for 10 cents apiece. Ohhh, yummy yummy yummy. I love meat.

I love those vegetarians that have soy burgers, and they say stuff like "they taste the same as real burgers". So I try a soy burger, and I want to vomit in disgust, because weird curds and sprouts are sticking out of the patty and it tastes nothing like a juicy, yummy, juicy, yummy, yummy, juicy hamburger.

And, in reasonable quantities, it's good for you too.

You ain't taking the meat away from me, no sir.

Im not vegan etc but slaughtering animals etc is just wrong...all bloodied etc for consumption. I wish I could be vegan. eating flesh seems morbid in the grand scheme of things. We are only desensitized to do it I think. If we had to watch what they do to the animals etc I bet a lot of people would not eat meat anymore. Hitting a cow etc with an axe and skinning it and eating it..damn.

And then I think there are those who will just abstain for a while, then eventually go back to it when that experience is a long ago memory - if they abstain at all.

I don't know if they kill cows the same way in all slaughterhouses, but the usual way isn't with an axe, it's something they put on the cow's head and they press it. The affect is that it makes the cow unconscious, from there I totally forgot what happens.

From the When Rolling Stone Was Actually Good During Its Last Days dept:

If anyone has the old Rolling Stone issue with Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey on the cover (as Wayne and Garth) of Wayne's World, there's an extensive story about a slaughterhouse and exactly how it operates. It's very visceral and it makes you think twice, three times about not only eating meat, but what the cow went through BEFORE it came out of that slaughterhouse, how meat from fast food places are sometimes carelessly prepared (that goes for many restaurants too, but fast food places are notorious for it), etc.

I don't have the number or date of that issue of the magazine, and I don't own it anymore. Wish I had kept it. The article is VERY in-depth.

The same way you choose not to eat peas. Just shut your mouth when the fork gets near your face.
~OR~
The same way you choose not to do something that hurts another living being, even if it does seem fun at the time.

Either way, life is better when you don't eat it.

I was vegan for a month, vegetarian for a year, but couldn't turn down the chicken kfc

No red meat for me though cow2 meat does not digest in your system... it just sits in your intestines and ROTS ill until your body is ready to get rid of it. Been red meat free for 10 years!

NO! Well done is a crime. It has to be slightly red at least or it just isn't juicy. I cannot understand why some people are going around eating overcooked steak.

I grew up with some form of dead and cooked animal on my plate for 30 years, so I do understand how it seems impossible.

Red meat started it all. I could feel it in my stomach, and it began to cause me pain. I noticed it happened each time and was getting worst. So, I dropped the meat (I'll spare you exactly what made me quit).

Next came chicken and fish. I was never crazy for either one, to tell you the truth...so that was the easy part.

So I've been vegetarian for years now.

Good answer! biggrin

The reason I asked is because in a discussion once, at a round table of people...someone brought up raw/cooked meat. Then I brought up this Filipino dish where they cook chopped peices of pork and onions, cook that well, then add in pigs blood - like a pint to the mix, and cook it. Then it's eaten, so in essence the blood becomes the "gravy".

Anyways, someone stood up and said, "How can anyone eat blood!". I said aren't you a meat-eater, she said yes...LOL...I said then you are eating cooked blood! She said there isn't blood in cooked meat/chicken/fish. biggrin

What you said earlier reminded me of this conversation. biggrin So that's all there was to my question.

biggrin

Read "Animal Liberation" and "Vegan: The New Ethics Of Eating", or check out Why Vegan and you will understand. If, of course, you actually WANT to understand, which most people don't. Ignorance is bliss, eh?

I love being vegan. I don't miss flesh; once you stop eating it you are free to realize how nasty it is to eat someone else's muscles.
