A Fauxie Appreciation thread. ok, as most of you know we've finally met: http://prince.org/msg/100/312241
(I'm willing to answer any questions you may have about this often elusive, enigmatic, anatomically gifted orger). We agreed to meetup on 2 days ago in Khao Sahn Rd in Bangkok. I knew nothing about the place (I think it was featured in the movie, The Beach, prior to it's current incarnation), so I was quite a bit excited to get to see it, in addition to meeting an orger whose wet more va jay jays and loosened more mudflaps than any other orger in the history of General Discussion circa 2005, prior to JerseyKRS taking over. But, I digress... I'm sitting at the coffee shop at the Buddy Lodge having a delicious Iced Soy Caramel Latte when I see them walk past the place. I started to giggle since it was Fauxie who recommended the Buddy Lodge in the first place , and they missed it. So I walked outside and proceeded to follow them, a bit concerned that I might start profusely sweating from the heat before I even got to meet them. And just like the General Discussion threads, Fauxie seemed to have disappeared just out of thin air So I circled back around to the hotel, and saw them standing in front of the hotel. That motherfucker must walk really fast. So we meet. It was early afternoon just in front of the Buddy Lodge on Khao Sahn Rd. I'm being very detailed about this meeting because let's face it--it's an org milestone. We are, without a doubt, the most earth shattering, unbelievably popular orgers to have ever posted in this forum. ok, maybe not, but it was a milestone for me anyways. They were both a bit nervous standing outside the lodge I believe. Very nice, courteous, and the moment was one of those "....so do get this done now?" type of things. I won't lie and say I wasn't a bit nervous, but ...ok, I really wasn't. So we go upstairs to the Thai restaurant in the buddy lodge (Air Conditioned thank god), and order food. My assessment: Fauxie is EXACTLY like his org personality. There is no difference whatsoever. He's just as funny, just as awkwardly shy at times, and reacts to Mon exactly as he claims to. A few times, his piercing blue eyes undressed me slowly as I talked about Muse, Carrie, and a few orgers I have lots of dirt on, but for the most part he behaved, and I appreciate his restraint, considering our history. Yeah, I really appreciate his restraint. Good, faithful husband that he is Then we went to a really cool street called something or other, and sat at a bar called Sawadee or something like that. That's when we met this super hot Swiss guy and his boring ass girlfriend and they both spoke German. I swear to God, I was more attracted to this guy than I should have been. I was so releaved that after I went to the bathroom to drain my cock, that they had left the table beside us, but by that time we were joined by Danish girls. Through all the chaos and loudness, Nick was albe to maintain lucid conversation, and never ignored me for the surrounding hoopla. He made me feel as if I was always a part of the experience. Well, I do suspect he may have been revealed to have someone to talk to other than 3 drunk ass women giggling and carrying on beside us Throughout the night we walked around, went and had a really nice time watching a surprisingly excellent Raggae/jazz/ska stylie Thai band, then on to a meat market style Irish Pub, then eat breakfast, and they went home. It was a nice, fun, blessed evening. I really appreciated getting to know the two of them on a level beyond just joking around here on the org. The only part that may have been only slightly uncomfortable for me was fight hard not to overwhelm them with my charm. Fauxie

He is a great guy!
He was a bit shy when we met him and sadly we only had a few short hours with him and Mon. We had a couple hours drive back home so we could not hang out with them as long as we had liked. I remember jumping up and hugging him as soon as he answered the door. Sorry Nick, I was happy to finally meet you in person. Nick and Mon are beautiful people. I am so very glad that you guys finally met. I appreciate all of the advice and wisdom Nick has given me over the years. He is a very funny, witty, caring, awesome guy (gotta love those Brits for their charm

We didn't miss it! I decided I needed to go to 7-eleven to get some Fisherman's Friends so I could have nice minty-fresh breath when we first met, knowing my smoking would completely disgust you later on. So I walked outside and proceeded to follow them, a bit concerned that I might start profusely sweating from the heat before I even got to meet them. And just like the General Discussion threads, Fauxie seemed to have disappeared just out of thin air
So I circled back around to the hotel, and saw them standing in front of the hotel. That motherfucker must walk really fast. I do, this is true. So we meet. It was early afternoon just in front of the Buddy Lodge on Khao Sahn Rd. I'm being very detailed about this meeting because let's face it--it's an org milestone. ok, maybe not, but it was a milestone for me anyways. For me also. I mean, I've no pull in this forum anymore so I didn't consider this a meeting of org giants or anything, but I did find it amusing thinking about Fauxie and Imago together at last, after all the banter here down the years.
Yes, I was nervous. So was Mon, strangely for her. She gets like that when meeting people she really cares about meeting though. With complete strangers she's fine, but when it comes to family or people we've known in some way like this but not met, she actually gets nervous. It's cute. My assessment: Fauxie is EXACTLY like his org personality. There is no difference whatsoever. He's just as funny, just as awkwardly shy at times, and reacts to Mon exactly as he claims to.
You're way too kind, but thank you. You realise, I'm made to look way more fun than I am by Mon being there. I end up getting credit as part of the overall experience of meeting us, but really it's all Mon. It's basically impossible not to have a blast with her around. A few times, his piercing blue eyes undressed me slowly as I talked about Muse, Carrie, and a few orgers I have lots of dirt on, but for the most part he behaved, and I appreciate his restraint, considering our history.
Yeah, I really appreciate his restraint. Good, faithful husband that he is I won't lie. I was disappointed. You'd booked a room for the night. I mean, coming to meet us, books a hotel room for the night, isn't it obvious? Maybe I'd misread the signals. We were getting you drunk and the plan was working, but our lack of restraint meant that come midnight or so we were too plastered to take advantage of you. Then we went to a really cool street called something or other, and sat at a bar called Sawadee or something like that.
Rambutri Road, round by the temple just off Khao San. I noticed how perceptive you were at spotting farang couples where the guy was more attractive than the girl. Yes, I looked around and Mon had just started talking to the Danish girls. Next thing I knew we were sitting with them. Same with that Shisha stuff. It just suddenly arrived at the table and Mon, as usual, was behind it. Through all the chaos and loudness, Nick was albe to maintain lucid conversation, and never ignored me for the surrounding hoopla. He made me feel as if I was always a part of the experience. Well, I do suspect he may have been revealed (sic) to have someone to talk to other than 3 drunk ass women giggling and carrying on beside us
Spot-on. Throughout the night we walked around, went and had a really nice time watching a surprisingly excellent Raggae/jazz/ska stylie Thai band, then on to a meat market style Irish Pub, then eat breakfast, and they went home.

The only part that may have been only slightly uncomfortable for me was fight hard not to overwhelm them with my charm. Fauxie I had a really good time, and I can't lie. You're a charming guy and fantastic company. And thank you for the appreciation thread. I don't expect any kind of Summer of JerseyKRS style revival of my popularity, but I may just get a little boost for a while and a few people might remember I'm still here.

I really appreciated you taking the time and going out of your way for us though. I remember being struck with how petite and pretty you are! You were both extremely easy to talk to and get on with too. Made me feel completely at ease after my usual initial shyness. And thank you for the flattering compliments. I'm glad we started orgnoting a few years ago and found a connection and finally got a chance to meet. I'm sure we'll have an opportunity to get together for longer at some point in the future too.

Imago said: prb said: well, ok. Did he live up to ur expectations. yes! Except he ate some weirdass British food at the pub. Sausages and mashed potato. Though I should add a big thank-you for buying us lunch. And for correcting me on the tone I used for saying the word 'neua' (beef) You know, I thought about it more, about certain Thai songs I know, and Thais definitely do not use the correct tones for all the words in songs and melody does take preference. Quite how that sounds to a native speaker I have no idea. Surely it's weird when a singer clearly says 'mai' meaning wood instead of 'mai' meaning a question (as in .... yes?) because of the melody, and Thais just go with context? But what does their brain compute that split-second they hear what is clearly the wrong word? It baffles me. And I've digressed horribly. Thanks for lunch, and for my Smiths t-shirt (did I ever thank you for that?). . [Edited 7/4/09 18:13pm]

Is he a good kisser ? ? Yes! But Dan kinda reminded me of a cute little Buddha from a Thai 'Phraa' pendant, so culturally and religiously it would've been totally inappropriate to kiss him.
