they make it sound like they are targetting dormant accounts. I use mine every day. To make matters worse, I can't figure out how to contact anyone. A reply to my email came back undeliverable.

when I click on the link to follow to the next customer service page, it just takes me back to the blank log in and I just sign in to my email account. Does this verify that I want my email to remain untouched?

I havent used Hotmail in like 10 years

it's obviously fake because of the grammar/capitalization issues, and when you click the link, it's taking you to a fake login page where you input your email and password and it is captured by the spammer

Just so you know you may have downloaded a keylogger from clicking on that link. Some people hide these things in web links and they manage to get into your PC and find ALL usernames/passwords (not just your hotmail) that have been entered on that PC. So I suggest you do a virus/spyware scan asap

Got a similar message claiming it was from yahoo management. From further investigation I found it was a scam.

This is probably a scam.

You could email the people over at MSN and send a copy asking for verification.

I think you should be fine as long as you've changed your hotmail password now. If you had any other passwords for anything else in your emails, then maybe think about changing those passwords too... anything they could have read...

I've gotten these from banks, eBay, paypal, hotmail, and even HERE someone posted under my account. I change my passwords regularly. Iffy grammar should be the first sign that it's not a professional email. If I get them I usually report them with the address so MSN or paypal can track them.
