Do you remember when a regular hamburger and small bag of fries were a meal @ McDonalds?

I was going through some old family photos the other day and saw a picture of my mom eating at McDonalds. And in front of her was just a plain hamburger, small bag of fries, and a medium coke. I forgot that before the BigMac and other gut busting inovations, that this used to be a meal. Now that's what they put in a childrens Happy Meal. No wonder we are all fat.

Yeah, I think our appetites have grown as value meals have. I was at Taco Bell last summer and I saw where you could order a huge box of food for one person. It made me think, are we really far off from fast food places just throwing gallons of food in a trough for us?

I think it´s mainly the BigMac sauce that makes people fat, not necessarily the bun and the meat because the meat is getting leaner and leaner due to health oriented customers and the demand for lean beef.Back in the days most burgers were much greasier ( and tastier because fat makes burgers tastier).

I am absolutely not a fan of McDonalds but that Morgan Spurlock documentary kind of scared me so I googled some info about it and came across a website by some Swiss scientist who did the exact same thing and studied the physical changes in some men who ate nothing but McDonalds products , and to my surprise, the results were completely different from the ones that Morgan Spurlock came to.
I mean, making a documentary is a good thing when you stick with the facts and inform people but it´s not so cool when you manipulate the people and rearrange certain things just so they can suit your agenda.

However, I agree with you that there IS a problem with the size of certain meals and the fat and sugar content of certain products.

Also, the burger meat in America is packed with hormones and as far as I know European McDonalds restaurants don´t use meat with hormones.
Those "BIG GULP" drinks at Taco Bell are also a major factor. Who needs a whole liter of Coca Cola ? That´s a lot of refined high fructose sugar.

falloff I just can't imagine "health conscious" customers demanding anything from McDonalds but the exit lol & it's not just the sauce, it's the multi-layered white bread bun & the questionable greazy meat too. Come on now smile Who is this scientist you looked up? I'm curious about his results, not that it'll get me to step foot into McDonalds again lol hmmm

OMG lol Yea, it's not food. I think people have a hard time accepting that b/c they're used to it, they wanna eat it & want to justify eating it. But it's horrible stuff exclaim

I liked the cherry pies better than the apple ones. If they brought those back I would actually go to a McD's again. Just for the pie tho, the burgers are fucking vile. Their other sandwiches just sit in my gut like a rock...ugh...
