Even though Christian Bale is in it,
He’s fine as all hell, not to mention Welsh,
I’m not sure I should even give two shits
about this movie.
Then again, I had little or no excitement about
seeing Star Trek, and now feel not only is it the best
Star Trek movie, it’s one of the best summer sci-fi
blockbusters I’ve seen recently.
Has anyone seen Terminator 4 yet?

Terminator has been receiving some terrible reviews. I will still see it though and form my own opinion.

It wasn’t very good. But still more entertaining than the 3 previous
movies. The acting is far better, the stars are a bit more believable,
and of course the special effects beat anything the originals had to
offer.
The film is completely bleed of its colors in the same manner as those
Clint Eastwood movies, Flags of our Fathers and it’s sister movie.
The affect is nice here in this movie.
This is a futuristic madmax world, not like any of the other Terminators.
No hint of civilization exists, though I wonder how human military bases
are still standing. It’s a bit hokie to tell you the truth, but I think you’re
suppose to engage in some suspension of disbelief here .
I’m not sure who that Asian chick is in the movie that has a
prominent role in the film, but lawd hammercy I would love her to have
some of my babies

Overall I give the movie a b-, just because it doesn’t break new ground,
doesn’t really give us much more of the John Connor story, and
finally, feels completely unessesary in the franchise. Then again all the movies
after the first one felt that way, so in comparing it to the others, it’s a superior movie.
Christian Bale overacts in almost every scene to William Shatner proportions, so
be warned. I felt like yelling “KHANNNNN!!!!!” have way through the movie
but I don’t think the Alabama rednecks would have understood me.

Any movie that features Michael Ironside is bound for B-movie glory. I don't care how large its budget. Dude is king of the Sci-fi Over-acting League.

Imago, I agree with your suspension of disbelief point. I found it interesting that wee little car stereos and boomboxes could bring the machines on all-out attack but that the Resistance could mobilize helicopters, subs and jets and not have many issues. Until the end, when I guess it became clear that the robots had always known about them and had even used that "secret weapon" as a ruse.

During the movie, though, you're watching it and going... "Shouldn't the robots be able to pick up on all of John Connors' broadcasts??? especially if music signals draw their attention????

And, if you know you and your Resistance team members are going to be launching the attack of all attacks in a few hours, will you really be risking the success of the mission and the survival of your hidden base by helping Mr. Cyborg escape????

And, did anyone else find the Marcus subplot completely predictable?

I see here in the UK it has a 12a certificate, great. Just what we need a cinema of chatty kids watching a Terminator movie!

Why couldn't it be uber-violent?
