Well I enjoyed the first re-make that Rob Zombie did...and I think I will enjoy this one too.

I can't wait to see this! woot! Rob Zombie is not right in the head, but in a good way;)

The original Halloween 2 is super boring, as is part 3...so I'm intrigued with his version. It looks pretty scary.

I disagree. I like the original Halloween 2 better than the first Halloween! Haven't seen the remakes- the originals are too sacred for me.

I saw the first 10 minutes or so of the first re-make. I said I wasn't interested, but my friend insisted and said that I'd love it. So I relented. I went home to bed after the first couple of scenes. Ugh.

What's so scary about the original? People being killed in a hospital....a pretty quiet hospital. I've never been in a hospital that's so quiet. The 1st Halloween is CLASSIC! The only one that comes close to the original is the one when Jaime was an adult and Michael Myers killed her in the barn. I can't remember which one that was. The one where they brought little Tommy back from the 1st one, and he was all fucked up in the head....

That one was pretty awesome!

My problem with the first remake is that I thought it might have worked better as two films: the prequel then the remake of the original.

I'll watch this one too.

Well for 1982 as a kid yeah it was pretty scary. Yes the hospital was pretty empty. I think the original Halloween & Halloween 2 flow well together all the rest were horrible.

Yeah, since the camera wasn't shaking and there wasn't industrial NIN-ish music, I guess it wouldn't have been too scary. rolleyes I realize kids nowadays have to have shit thrown at the screen with seizure-inducting quick cuts to consider something "scary" nowadays, but the original had something that Zombie couldn't replicate in his wildest dreams - atmosphere.

I've never been in a hospital that's so quiet either...then again, it didn't take place in the urban inner city of Chicago...it took place in Haddonfield. And, the flick you're thinking of is Halloween 5: the Curse Of Michael Myers.
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Actually, it was Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers wink

I'm guessing you guys who defend the original part 2 also defend Halloween 3 neutral A bad movie is a bad movie. Halloween 2 and 3 are HORRIBLE. I could care less about the "NIN-ish" music, everything about those movies stink like a skank's ass shrug

D'oh. I meant to put 6, but at least I got the all-important subtitle right. Though, in truth, it was merely Halloween: the Curse Of Michael Myers.

Also, I did like Halloween 3 and wish they went with Carpenter's original idea to turn the Halloween series into an "anthology" instead of continuing to run Michael Myers into the ground.

I don't think the anthology thing would've worked neutral

The original 'Halloween II' was ridiculous. The hospital was nearly empty lol At the end of the first movie, you get the feeling that it's late at night and the trick or treaters are at home in bed, etc. In the sequel (which takes place on the same night),it appears as if the night is just beginning, lol.

Halloween 5/6/7 (is there an 8??) were ALL bad. Halloween 4 was ok. Halloween 3 is not really apart of the series (it should be called season of the witch).

I haven't seen the original remake, but for some reason with someone as unimaginative (musically) as Rob Zombie at the helm, I just picture this entire thing turning from the original's Hitchcock style tension to just a Mel Gibson style gore fest.

The hospital scenes in Halloween II make that movie a classic. Seeing Michael Myers in the various monitors and watching him pick off the staff one by one made for some great moments. I also like Halloween 3, partly BECAUSE it's ridiculous. lol The rest after that were pretty bad, I think.

Exactly. Hey let's give it up to the theme music to Halloween. When that music comes on it gets scarey. It doesn't matter how slow Michael Myers walk, the second that music comes on he's gonna get you.
