I just ran ALL the way around Lake of the Isles!

I ROCK!

headbang

It's 2.6 miles all the way around that lake. And maybe that doesn't sound like much but 2 months ago I couldn't run 2 blocks.

What have you done recently you never thought you'd do?

btw - this is what the lake looks like:

I got an A in my public speaking class. eek

Never thought I'd be comfy speaking to a group and certainly didn't think I'd be good at it.

They did somewhat for the first few weeks. Not painful when I was running, but they got sore overall. (I'd notice I'd walk like an old lady stepping off the bus. lol. )
Now they're not sore at all. It's all about building your body up slowly. This class has been amazing!

What have you done recently you never thought you'd do?

Well, I just finished my first full semester of college after being away for 15 years. I have three degrees -- two associates and a bachelors and I went back to school because my military education benefits were running out.

I'm amazed at what I did. Five classes in the morning and early afternoon, then 3pm-midnight at the TV station. Then I either studied for the next day, squeezed in a TV show too. I was up about 17 hours a day, slept on average about 4.5 hours a night (except for the weekends). A grueling schedule and a major sacrifice.

I didn't drop a class. Although I did okay in french class, I averaged a B in my other four courses.

Never thought I could balance 14 credit hours, a 40 work week job, and (certain weekends), Air National Guard duty.

I have a week off and then back to college. Well, the best news is that it's all online home courses, so I can get back to a normal 7-8 hour sleep schedule and I can start working in an hour of exercise, which I desperately could not do for the past 15 weeks.

Yea me!

I guess the thing I did that I never thought I'd do is climb to the summit of Mount St. Helens. I mean, I never thought I couldn't do it, but looking back, it was the hardest (physically anyway) thing I've ever done. I don't think I'd do it again knowing now how long it actually takes. lol
