I get it at least once a week from a random stranger at some store or wherever. Ever since I was a little kid.

So like, I think I'm cute, but I swear I don't see how I can be any more stunning than the other chick. I get it all the time at work, and people stop me to tell me this out in public. I'm getting self concious, do they feel they need to let me know that I'm a thick chick with a bomb ass face? Do they think I need a self esteem booster cause I'm like Delta Burke after her speed pill days?

I know this is weird, but I swear, I just don't know where all the praise comes from. I shower, do my hair, and keep myself together, of course I would look good. I just say thank you and return a compliment. I shared this with boyfriend and he told me if I don't think it, then who doeS? He has a point, but I do appreciate it. But I think a little humility is nothing wrong.

This sounds so vain, what I'm doing right now. Hmmmm what I just said may mean something. I am a rather unspoiled child that grew into an adult with no pretences....could mean something.

I got that in the past too. Women that I don't know, or just met, as acquaintances tell me that I have a cute nose, or smile. Or that I'm cute. I don't see what people see. I guess I don't fit what I believe is attractive to women, so it's hard for me to understand.

I don't believe it when people tell me though. What I see in the mirror and pics don't match. I always go with the worse of the two.

A man on the bus once went on and on about how great it was I took care of myself and had a sense of style even though I was a "big woman".


I get compliments on my hair all the time and while I do like my hair (so tend to agree ), I get self conscious too as it's the only thing I am ever complimented on looks-wise. I think people feel a need to point it out as it's the only thing worth complimenting.
