Unconditional relationship.

She thought she was dreaming his presence. By the time she learns he was actually being there, she knows him, so yes, she okay with it.

Oh, and the other little fact that if they have sex he will most likely want to KILL HER during it.

They'll do other things then. Unmarried teenagers not having sex is not a bad thing...there's plenty of time for that.

We see the film differently, agreed. rose

1. Yes, unconditional in the sense that she's obsessed with him because...well...because he's DrEamY...and he just wants to eat her blood. rolleyes

2. It doesn't matter. The underlying message to YOUNG girls is "If a guy watches you while you sleep, it's romantic because you EVENTUALLY got to know him" - What happens if she didn't? Why isn't seeing her during her waking hours enough? Why does he have to get all stalker creepy?

3. Lions do not fall in love with their "prey", they eat them, like Edward wants to. The fact that a female author could even imagine referring to her female character as something seen as "prey" for a dominant male character is despicable. The fact that teen girls find this at all romantic is disturbing.

4. The only reason they don't have sex is because he knows he'll kill her if they do. How pleasant! It's got nothing to do with good morals.

Be glad about that.

Sparkling vampires who cause women to turn into dumbass losers are not something you wanna know a lot about, trust me!

nod Twilight makes me ill

The author took everything that sucks out of other vampire stories and combined them into one big ball of cloying lamesauce.

I gotta go easy on the Twilight bitching soon though. My soon-to-be roommate is a huge fan. lol

But I still think the Twilight and HP series both suck. Hate to sound like an old fogey, but when I was a kid the friends and I were delving into the Brontes and Shakespeare. What happened?

redface I loved it. Omg, I thought it was so romantic.

I don't see what's romantic about the most submissive relationship to grace screens in a long time.

Even the imagery the character's relate themselves to - a lion attacking a lamb - is disgusting.

Not to mention a woman being okay with a stranger breaking and entering, watching her while she sleeps and breaking her car's engine so she has to ride with him every day.

Oh, and the other little fact that if they have sex he will most likely want to KILL HER during it.

nod It's a creepy and unhealthy relationship for young girls to be swooning all over. Not unlike Joker fangirls who fantasize about being Harley Quinn. Oh yeah, baby. Abuse and manipulation is just so sexy.

One of my co-workers had a shirt made up using the Twilight font that says, "Team Edward Blake" with a teeny, tiny happy face as the period. Her shirt is made of win. biggrin

The only thing I liked about the movie was the cinematography and, it must be said, Robert Pattinson certainly isn't ugly. batting eyes

So yeah, I still hate the plot and everything it stands for biggrin

Twilight doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as HP.

HP is awesome, and I don't usually like those kind of stories.

excited woot!

JK did get a lot of reluctant readers reading books- if not hers, then others.

once kids were in the bookshops/libraries they had such a wide choice it was hard not to find something they liked

It's funny cause I remember when HP would be released there'd be 1000 other "magical boy on his magical journey" books out, too.

Now that Twilight is out, there's 1000 "young moody girl in love with a vampire!" books out, too lol

I have a question for the HP fans out there. I'm not trying to make fun, but hadn't any of you heard of Worst Witch? Sure, HP has a boy instead of a girl and the writing is of better quality, but essentially we're looking at the same story.
