Whatchoo doin' at tha courthouse?!?

One of the local hip-hop stations has this segment. By virtue of me driving my 12-year-old daughter to school every day, I get to hear it.

Talk about...hell, I don't know! Funny? Sad? Infuriating? All of the above?

One of the DJs interviews people at the courthouse and asks them, "Whatchoo doin' at tha courthouse?" The answers are...yeah.

Most people readily admit they did whatever it was they were charged with - shoplifting, drugs, whatever. None of them are sorry they committed a crime; they're just pissed at being caught. The shoplifters especially - they ALWAYS complain that they didn't even get to wear the clothes they tried to steal.

But the best/funniest thing about this is that it is brought to you by - and this is no joke, I looked it up - the lawyers at 713-WASN'T ME.

OK, I gotta go - it's time for Whatchoo Doin' at tha Courthouse...errrrr, time to take my daughter to school.

wink

We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color.

I could write a book on all the excuses I hear everyday when I interview my clients.

"I borrowed the pants where the drugs were found."

"I was holding the pipe for my friend who is trying to quit smoking crack"

"I wasn't driving, how could I get a DUI."

Oy vey....
