That's funny because there was recently a conversation regarding artists in the music industry and how in this day and time, artists' talents are measured by their looks, and some stated if they only have talent, but not the look the industry wants, then they will be passed over. Many of us disagreed with that, and stated that an artist's talent was more important, because beauty eventually fades, and real talent lasts, so once age sets or the beauty fades, then that artist better have some real talent in the first place when that time comes.

Well Susan Boyle, just proved that you don't have to be what society defines as "beautiful" if you have real talent.. Let's face it, she may not look like Beyonce or Christine Aguilera, but once the audience saw how talented she was and actually had a singing voice, to the point where it was rumored she was offered a singing contract, they absolutely loved her.

I respect her for her courage, despite the sneers and laughs she received from some audience members, before she got her chance to sing. She'll be the one laughing on the way to the bank, while those that sneered and laughed at her, will still be doing their 9 to 5 and wondering if they'll still have a paycheck every week. Susan will be getting paid after American Idol whether she wins or not, the woman is talented, and I wish her the very best with her career. She'll be just fine. Cheers to her!
