arrested development - it perfectly bookends the series by mirroring the first episode with the SEC taking them down on a boat, however it turns who's behind it on it's ear brilliantly.

and then caps it with a great meta-gag with ron howard playing himself.

Totally agree. The last few episodes of AD were just classic. The stuff with 'Nelly Bluth' and then Lindsay finding out she wasn't Michael's sister and coming on to him and Annyong and the banana stand - just genius. Holy crap, do I miss that show!

Roseanne- A la "Newhart" and "St Elsewhere", the entire last season and the show itself was all a dream. Dan didn't wake up from that coma, there was no lottery, Jackie was a lesbian, Darlene was with Mark, Becky was with David, and DJ became a film director. The thing I like was that we learned that no amount of money, even if it's a million dollar jackpot can heal the pain of losing a loved one. Only family and a lifetime of memories can begin to help....

better in concept than in reality, but damn clever.

I disagree. That ending was WHACK lol I love that show but I hate the way the producers tried to "wrap everything up" in the final few episodes.Doug and Carrie spent 9 years trying to have a baby, and then in the final episode, they adopt a child AND Carrie gets pregnant?! nuts That was ridiculous.

but Arthur walking in stating, "It didn't work out" was classic stuff
(he really made that show)

now they have to deal with him again along with the kids lol

I hope they do a "King Of Queens" reunion special someday,so we can see how everything worked out lol

For Christmas,I got the entire series DVD set with all nine seasons.I always thought that this show was so underrated. It's hilarious!

It's interesting...back in the day, many shows got cancelled unexpectedly during the summer. So they weren't able to film a "finale"...an episode that wraps everything up.This happened with 'The Jeffersons' and the cast was furious.

I think it also happened with 'The Brady Bunch'.The final Brady Bunch episode is HORRIBLE...so bad, that Robert Reed (the father) refused to appear in it.This is the episode where Greg graduates from high school, but not before his hair turns orange! Oh yeah, there are alot of rabbits involved in this episode too lol The cast had no idea that this would be their final episode.

that is pretty realistic, actually. A lot of couples end up pregnant when they are pursuing adoption or having just adopted. Even when they have been unable to become pregnant up to that point..

I suppose you're right.I just think the final episode seemed so rushed and contrived. It would have been better if they began the final season with Carrie announcing that she's pregnant. Then,in the finale, she gives birth. That would have been a more satisfying conclusion, imo.
