Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

The woman even said that some of her "johns" would want to rub her belly and talk to her baby!!! I was like awwwww hell naw. How could you do that....how could you let so many strangers have access to your body in that condition.....

I don't like the accusatory condescending tone they're directing towards this girl.

It's clear that this young woman is emotionally battered and in some form of desperation. She's not defiant about her choice at all rather than completely melancholy and broken down and confused about it. Instead of casting aspersions someone needs to be reaching out to this girl, she is clearly crying out for some sort of help. Tyra taking her back to her inner child then telling her she is an embarrassment to that child makes me wanna punch her in the face...and I actually know Tyra (and have always adored her)...WTF??? hmm

I think Tyra still has a lot of growing to do in that area....this is one of those mistakes that we dont get from more seasoned persons like Oprah. Many of Tyra's shows come off odd because she lacks the wisodom/experience to get in depth without going overboard and putting folks out there national enquirer style.

For this woman, I didn't understand why at the end there were not any offers to help her with job counseling or education. I mean telling somebody who has already done this deed that they will basically be a future source of shame for their child is counterproductive. She already has virtually no family....she needed to be helped to feel empowered so she could make better decisions.

EXACTLY.

It all felt very counterproductive and not exactly looking for a reasonable solution to remedy to the malady. You know, this wasn't like the show that featured porn star Sasha Grey, who at 18 or 19 was basically telling the Tyra Show "I'm an adult, I like to fuck, and fuck you if you don't like it". This show has a 20 year old who is clearly alone, confused, and desperate. That little exercise where Tyra took her back to being 6 years old and then belitted her for the choices she's made was appalling. To begn with, I agree that Tyra is not old enough nor wise enough via life experience or self-education (a la Oprah) to try and play armchair pyschologist. If she were she would have been able to read the situation better and approach it from an empowerment angle rathebr than re-inforce the negative language and descriptions this girl has probaly heard all her life from her family. That was a huge misstep, and a missed opportunity to help someone see how they could turn their life around for the better. I was dissapointed in this show disbelief

I havent watched the show but you guys make some very good points and I really think that you should copy and paste your comments into a strongly worded letter to the show, channel and possibly your national television complaints committee. This poor girl sounds like she is seriously screwing up her life and endangering herself and her baby - it really should be addressed and you guys are succinct and intelligent enough to put pressure on the makers of the show.
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

In all fairness to all parties involved though, I would encourage you to watch the clips posted FIRST before you encourage anyone to do anything. At the end of the day I think for some of us the point is about being cognizant, before passing judgement or rendering decision on how we see others'actions. It does make me very sad to see how they put this girl in a box, though. Like I said,it's not as if she were the subject of the Sasha Grey show where we could see who could give two butts and a fuck what we think, then come out with her own rebuttal videos against Tyra to let us know as such (....and that's not even anything against Sasha Grey rather than making it clear that she is very clear and ambitious about her aims as sex for sale, and lets it known that she has zero remorse for the life she has chosen...however skewed we view it)...

she talked about adoption. wouldn't that have been the better option? is this more a statement of what is wrong with society.

why is she so opposed to giving the baby up for adoption? I have a real hard time feeling very bad for her considering that there are other options out there that are much safer for both her and her unborn child.

Also, what the hell is wrong with Tyra? I guess she's trying to be more serious but she just comes off seeming real...well...slow. Her questions are just stupid.

clapping What you said, and more.

This was clearly not an ideal situation for her, but the whole approach is as if she's some horrible, awful person. Not cool. disbelief

As for the fetish itself, I don't get it. But it's not hurting anyone and as long as everyone involved is into it, why not? shrug

No. But I wouldn't put it pass Tyra or her producers to do some like that.

That seems like an unfair judgement. Who is to say that the was not a loyal girlfriend to him before all this happened and he's not simply a deadbeat?
