I CAN'T cut my hair off, bro! NO WAY! I'll let it get so tangled, you won't be able to tell the difference between traditional dreadnoughts and my ragamuffin, before I cut all of it off. I've been growing it since July 2nd of 2002. Yeap! I even remember the starting date. It's a seriously chronicled process with me; tedious even. I want it to get REALLY LONG! Can't yet. I'm growing out what I have so I can donate it to a wigmaker once it's long enough. Seriously considering doing a shave once I can remocve the bitch though. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Good luck with that! I'd love it to look different but right now that's not an option. I need to know how to maintain it. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Girl curly hair needs moisture... most curly hair is fine. (fine hair test- when you have a brushfull of hair everytime you brush it) then its fine... easy breakage... easy tangles... fly away frizz for days. wash, and condition with a deep moisture shampoo for dry/damaged hair. I use an old styled styling product... organic coconut oil. Its great for hair and skin. only use a little...after washing it... then rinse lightly. comb hair with wide tooth comb, then style with fingers. Air dry.... straightening curly hair is a pain... go to a professional for help to learn how.

Got the same problem. Black, White, Indian,Puerta Rican everybody freakin'. No product is going to do what you want. Go to a good hairdresser and request a mini-layer. Yes, they will need to cut your hair but it should be anymore than necessary to give your hair a more manageable look. Kinda like the layers of a ruffled dress. They should not have to cut off the length of your back whatsoever. Prince's Sarah

When I went to visit my parents this winter, I took my mom to buy a flat iron and taught her how to use it. What she was doing to her hair with a curling iron was positively criminal. Learning how to style your hair is worth it - even if you have to pay someone for their time. After that, you just have to practice a bit. But as I say, start with the right cut. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

your hair sounds a lot like mine i blow dry & flat iron it a lot, but when i don't i can put this stuff in my hair and just let it air dry (or use a diffuser on a blow dryer) and it's fine.
yeah, it is product, but all you do is put a dime-sized drop in one hand, smooth your hands together, and skim your hands over your hair right after you've towel-dried it. takes 30 seconds & it massively helps with frizz. it's like $4-7 at any drugstore.

I get a wig for in between 'do's. I don't deal with the curl, I cut it SHORT just for that reason. I have poodle hair.

My hair is long, thick and wavy. If I don't use some sort of product, it's pretty difficult to control
I use this when I let my hair air dry: If I straighten my hair, I use a bit of this:
