Great relationship with my mom, good relationship with my dad, decent relationship with my brother.

I didn’t get along well with anyone in my family growing up (if I didn't look so much like my dad I'd swear I was the mailman's kid) and really only got to have better relationships with them after I was moved out and grew up a bit. My mom and I got along better almost instantly after I moved out of the house at 18, my dad took a few more years after that, and my brother a few more still. I do better with them when there’s a bit of distance, and of course all of us growing and changing over the years has helped as well. I don’t have the kind of close relationship with my family where I’m calling them every day or seeing them more than once every few months or so, but I do love them and appreciate them for who they are.

My father is deceased, but I have a pretty good relationship with my mother, older sister and younger brother. My brother likes his space, though, so I actually see and talk to him somewhat infrequently.

I've been very blessed to have always had a loving family... parents and my brother. My daddy has been deceased for 10 but my mother is her healthy and kicking. Along with my brother we spend a lot of time together as world traveler's.

My mom and I bicker alot, and I try to aviod her at times, but thats cause we both can get a little pushy with our own opinions...otherwise we get along well enough

My dad, and I speak about every week and it's always good light-hearted conversation. Never anything deep, depressing, or too personal.

My brother...well if you know me, you know him! lol
He's my best friend, my right arm, my favorite person in the world!
I talk to him everyday, and tell him everything and we are constant partners in crime. He even orgnotes me lol
If you will, so will I

mom--we have a very difficult relationship, it's off and on....but i love her very much, and she's very special to me, we don't see eachother as much as i would like. every since i got married our relationship has been very distant.

dad--he's been a wonderful father, but we aren't very close now, and almost never do anything together. he just doesn't seem interested.

and i don't have any bros. or sisters, i'm an only child.

Anxiety

My mom and I were always really close, so much so that I would refer to our relationship in the present tense even though she's no longer with us.

My dad is an ass. I haven't actually been in the same room with him since 1992 or thereabouts. We've talked on the phone a few times over the years, and the conversations just reminded me what an idiot he is. sigh

I have a half-brother but because I'm not exactly skipping through the clover with my dad, I'm not that close with my half-brother either. I don't know if I'd like him or not. We tried communicating via email for a while, but it kinda tapered off.

Parents passed away 12 years ago...
But when my Dad was alive, he was a total loser, so yeah..not so much love lost there.
My Mom on the other hand was a dear sweet lady with a heart of gold, I miss her terribly. rose

I have 2 sisters and one brother.
My sisters are my rock, I go to them for everything and vice versa. My brother is 50, selfish and a big baby..but I do keep an eye on him to honor my Mom.

I have a great relationship with my mom.

My relationship with my dad is improving. We are still not to the point where we call each other or stop over just for the hell of it. He's fixing up my house now, which is great, but I have the feeling I wouldn't see him that much if I didn't need so much stuff done around here. And it's not me that's making it this way. It's him. confuse

I have okay relationships with my brothers but if my mom weren't around I don't think we would talk very often at all. She's kind of the glue that holds us together.

Tight with my mom despite how she treats me.
Welcomed my dad into my life recently... he didn't raise me, we are cool. hug
I love my older sister but I don't like her.
My brother I adore, even though as kids we fought like cats and dogs.
then there are my siblings on my dad's side that I just met... I am hopeful that I will grow to love them deeply.

Father: died. I've forgiven him.

Mom: It gets better each week. I appreciate her on a scale I never thought I would ever get to. I find it hard to communicate with her as her brain is wired so completely different from mine, but she's softened in her old age.

Sister: We really get along great. She's genuine and not judgmental. I'm just not as open with her as I need to be yet.

I've learned alot from living in a disfunctional family and so has my sister. She's an excellent mother, and her kids are brilliant and well adjusted.

When I get married, I'm going to use her as a model for how I should 'cultivate family."

Dad: this man was a monster in my youth. Things changed after my son was born. He softened up a bit. It helps that he doesn't have a relationship with his brothers or his mother (she has since died, good riddance), so my Mom and me are all he really has.

Mom: I'm her only child. I couldn't get rid of her if I wanted to. I love her dearly, even though she is 100% psychotic.
