I just saw an excellent little film by Ron Mann called Know Your Mushrooms. It deals with poison mushrooms, gourmet mushrooms, psychedelic mushrooms, and disease-curing mushrooms. Good music in the film too!

A man died here in Santa Barbara, just within the last 2 weeks..because he picked some wild mushrooms and took them home to cook them. His family stated "he did this all the time" scary shit that people think they always know they can tell the difference between a poisonous mushroom and a good mushroom.

I hate mushrooms so...no problem.

I really like mushrooms -especially the magic ones -but I would never try picking any by myself. There's just too many that look alike. I have an aunt who's a botanist, and even she brings a handbook and magnifying glass with her when she goes out to pick mushrooms, just to be safe.
