Ever since I was grilled by HamsterHuey on my "ask me anything" thread, made JustErin my desktop for a bit, started groovin' to SirPsycho's beats, stared for countless hours at Moni's dainty hands and gotten some delightful Elf undies from my Secret Santa, I feel at one with the clique...

There are times when I want to start a quirky thread just to lighten things up around here, but after reading some past history on this site; it doesn't seem to be allowed such as the Joke Thread when the person was told to start their own website if they wanted to do this type of thread. I miss HQ for this. They does appear to be a fair amount of hijacking by the same persons. Also, some people always have something nasty to say as its their job to do so. These things don't encourage new members.

Folks always say that they get ignored, but I honestly think it's more about how frequently you post. If you lurk, and you don't look like Brad or Angelina, folks just won't notice as much.
I find the more you post, the more they notice. Some may not like what you post, but eventually you build friendships.
It took me 2 years to finally break into CarrieMPLS' clique, one that is jealously protected and only spoken of in hushed whispers or flat out denied. But eventually she warmed up to me, and I've even been to her place. Pardonme4living, however, has not. [Edited 3/15/09 21:07pm] | |
