Too Many T-Shirts!!!

I'm putting stuff away at our new place.
I've got WAAAAAY too many junky "hang out in the house"/"paint in the studio" tees.

They're crap lol but still I can't bring myself to throw any out. sad

Do you have too much anything you just can't get rid of?

I love T-shirts. And getting free ones is like winning the mini lottery.

I think it's just part of being a guy. We have a gene that makes it impossible for us to turn down a free T-shirt and therefore we amass huge collections of them.

Thank you, I thought it was just me. lol

I'm normally VERY good about getting rid of stuff once it's "lived its life" or hasn't been used/displayed for longer than a year.

This is the one thing that trips me up in that dept.mad

I have too many CDs...
but now it sounds like they're gonna be collector's items and I better hand onto them for nostalgic purposes!

The problem is THEY LAST FOREVER, so you CAN'T WAIT for them to wear out before you TURF them.

I would check for STAINS particularly in the ARMPIT AREA.

I went through my closet yesterday and I'm amazed at what I've collected within the past year.

In my main closet and in the shoe storage next to my closet I have over 89 pairs of shoes. I have over 36 pairs of jeans, 26 black tops, shirts, blouses, 21 grey tops, shirts, whatever you wanna call them, over 60 undershirts, misc colors, tons of jackets and sweaters...oh and long sleeve shirts, I didn't know I liked them enough to own over 20 of them....
oh and slacks...I won 13 pair of the same black slack, 3 grey, two brown..wtf???
confused confused confused confused

U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here

My issue is not really with the stuff I'd wear out and about.
It's the stained messed up ones I wouldn't be caught dead out in public in I can't get rid of. fit

Cashmere sweaters. Some of them definitely should go but...they're cashmere! bawl

I understand what you mean about the tees, though. It's the memories they hold - especially because you've worked in them. I have the same problem getting rid of clothes that I've made. I have quite a few things that don't fit or outdated, that I just can't let go of - because I remember making them...or what I wore them for. sad

And like 4 of them were my mom's, who as you know is gone.
They're a mess and stained and stretched, but they were my mommy's and I paint in them. sad

the master is the same! 80% of his stuff is unwearable in public, and he clutches them desperately to his chest and says he could wear it while fishing or doing the garden, and I'm like "you do that stuff max 3 times a year, so keep only 3 of these wacky " lol

I'm looking at them now thinking I couldn't possibly do as many "home" things as this pile of shirts would allow. lol

But you paint, and eventually throw things out once they get too much paint on them - or don't you? no no no! wink
I made the master replace approximately 5 of those thing with ones OK in public, it was painful for him, poor thing, to go SHOPPING lol

I've found a new art form with T-shirts John! I had a load of big T's that I couldn't chuck out but they didn't fit and were just crappy looking on me, so I took the scissors to 'em nod I got me some pretty cool looking, 80's style T'shirts now. Granted that it's not a blokey thing but I like it... I'll try and take a piccy and post it
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

I had the same problem a few months ago. I went medieval on them and got rid of 60 percent of my shirts.
