I can't believe the officer's went to such measures! It's not like you were armed and dangerous.

Unless someone informed the officer they were either armed or "weren't sure" if they were armed. rolleyes

I can see that...but that's just crazy! Like something out of a bad cop show.

honey this is the states. i bet officers have to assume until proven otherwise for their own safety. still messed up though.

That is really true. Certain call in's trigger extra strong responses.

"Assault"

"Abduction of a child"

The police are motivated to secure the situation first and ask questions second.

Blessedly it wasn't "Shoot first and ask questions later."

Hokie and her brother did the very smartest things possible in that situation. Cooperated and kept their cool.

A little update.

Went to the attorney today and she is getting the tape of the 911 call my brother's wife made. They are also getting in touch with the officer that responded to her house yesterday. The attorney says these false accusations could hurt her custody chances.

My nephew has been crying a lot and had to be picked up early today from school because he was inconsolable. He was crying for his daddy. Apparently his teacher has had major concerns about the mother for a while now. She may be subpoenaed to testify in the custody case.

My brother is keeping Justin through the weekend and things are calm for the moment. I'll keep ya'll updated.

Thanks for all your support and well wishes and for those that sent orgnotes.

It's not right for parents to use their child(ren) during difficult times as weapons against each other. It's too much on a childs plate to be caught in the middle when they love both parents.

Good lord! I'm glad those cops calmed down...it could have gone either way. Hopefully the mom overplayed her hand this time and her manipulations will be exposed.

Good luck and best wishes...hope the kids won't have to see anymore of this. hug

That is horrible.

It's sad to say, but you're going ot have to find a way to document every conversation and every interaction. I know someone who's goign through a bad custody battle with her baby's daddy...and it can get REAL ugly.
She even submitted photographs and videotape of her reasons for suspecting neglect but the judge ruled it "inadmissible" because there's certain rules that need to be followed when taking pictures and video.

So get some solid advice and document EVERYTHING.

Thank God the mother seems crazy and stupid enough to expose herself as such. Hopefully that'll make it easier for your brother.
