Would anyone know?

Where I would find a certifying officer? I don't know if that is someone that would be found at a bank or in a court office. Anyone know?

Is that like a Notary Public ? - witnesses and stamps documents ? ( I'm one in NC )

If you receive documents that need to be notarized at an office, ask the person giving them to you. Sometimes, there will be a Notary on staff. Do it then rather than risk misplacing the documents or searching for a Notary later.

Call an insurance agency. Because they generate so many legal documents, a Notary might work there.

Contact the local post office. If the document needs to be mailed, it could be signed and sent in one place.

Ask someone at your bank. They could offer free notary services, depending on the type of account you have.

Call your public library or the local court house

I believe so.I am trying to help my father find some stolen bonds, and the paper that I filled out,and printed says that he has to wait to sign it,until he is in the presence of a certifying officer. It will need to be mailed,so I guess I will try the post office, and if not there I will try the other places you suggested. Thank you! biggrin
