Any cravings yet Shanti?

So have the cravings began? Have you gone off anything yet? I remember when I was pregnant I drank loads of flavoured sparkling water, my fridge was full of the stuff! I also went off anything highly scented, I couldn't wear perfume for the whole of my pregnancy and I couldn't go into stores that sold frangrances coz I would have puked! ill

I have gone off of most meats. I can hardly stand to look at the stuff.
I have been craving all sorts of things for weeks now.
It seems to happen when someone mentions a food I have not had in a while, I think "Oh, that sounds good".
I have been craving things from back home that are hard to get here like Vanilla wafers and Twizzlers licorice.
I crave water with lemon.
I always feel thirsty, ever used to be that way before.
I like sweet and sour and have gone off of spice food.
I used to love spicy food.
I cannot touch coffee now. Used to drink it every weekend.
Swiss cheese and pickles though I cannot find the "right" pickles.

Yeah I was so so thirsty all the time, oh I forgot I went of coffee and I love coffee. Maybe you could get someone to send you a load of stuff over from the states? or a good excuse to go! wink I never ate meat while pregnant because I was vegi, only just started to eat meat after 10 years! Oh the joys of pregnancy, its that permanant feeling of wanting to puke that I hated, I'm not doing it again, once was enough!

Me either. I agree, once is enough.
Besides, at my age, I would be too old to have more anyways.

Tonight I had salad and a baked potato for dinner. Hopefully saving room for yogurt and fresh fruit salad.

Omagoodness! You are the first pregnant lady I have ever knew who kicked the meat out the window!smile . I've always seen the reverse happen; I wish you could have seen me and my in-law the day my preganant vegetarian sister went into instant protein attack; this woman literally marched into the kitchen and said,

I want a pork chop. And I want it NOW mad

Shanti, I swear you've never seen people get to the store so fast. We thought if we didn't make a pork chop materialize that heads would roll lol

I am curious, though....how to you choose your protein since you don't like meat right now?

I have heard from a few women that went off of meat. I have eaten some, if I do not have to cook it, smell it cooking. It has to be disguised. I read that it is very common. Though I was never a huge meat eater before getting pregnant.
I have been getting my protein through milk, soy milk, beans, nuts, cheeses, yogurt. Anything but meat and eggs.

I know it's different for every woman, but you have a specific way you like to eat your beans? I have a pregnant vegetarian in one of my women's groups I try to make something special for each week. So far the only thing I've come up with to set aside for her during "snack time" is hummus. I usually put it in a wrap for her while the rest of us carnivores go crazy over the meat sandwiches smile
