Ok.....it is very strange that they aren't doing blood tests, blood pressure, etc. Did they weigh you at least? lol

The nausea, unfortunately, is something you have to deal with. It's BAD, I know!!!

Nope. Just asked when my last period was and gave me a packet of paperwork about Immunisations for the baby.
Told me the hospital would contact us about the first scan. They sent me a letter telling us the date and time of scan.
That is it.
neutral

Yes, I am glad that I am not vomiting. That is a blessing. Just major motion sickness, drunk room spinning feeling, even in my sleep.

Considering it is such a major thing it is shocking how little test etc they do. After your first Scan you will start with i think monthly checks. They will start to try and listen for the babies heart but that is sometimes hard to find so don't worry if they don't locate it first time around. They do bloods probably on your first exam.

You are pretty much left alone to work it out yourself. I would strongly advise looking into joining some NCT class. The NHS class they give here is not very good and not always available. I had nothing given to me at all.

Before you know it you will start feeling the baby move around.... Are some lovely things about being pregnant, is not all bad.

They take urine, blood samples, swab test for strep B.

The worst lab test is the sugar drink test ill They take a few viles of blood before the test and retake after the test.

i didnt have a hospital appt til i was 16 weeks eek
or a scheduled ultrasound til about 20weeks.
But i insisted on one at 9 weeks- i was still in denial that i was pregnant- even though we had been trying- we were so lucky it all happened so quick 4 us i needed a scan to really believe it.

as 4 having baby at home

im glad i didnt have ben at home- I would have been transferred to hospital afterwards anyway- and that would have been traumatic.

i went through the KYM scheme know your midwife. i got to meet with a dedicated small team of midwives, who looked after me before, during and after the birth. co- care with my GP. And i had a natural birth- so it was a happy medium.

Good luck Val hug

I had so much fun this morning. I had to go to the doctor for my regular appointment, and I raised the concern I had that the baby hadn't been moving around the last two days. She did an ultrasound, and he is all over the place!! I finally paid attention to where his head is, so now I know that the area that seems to have the most action is where he is punching and kicking me lol.

It is so neat to see him moving around!! biggrin
