I was hoping this wouldn't make its way here. It was illegally stolen from files and when they catch the dumb ass that did so, he'll spend a lot of damn time behind bars.

She as a victim has a right to PRIVACY! I politely disagreee.....any physical/mental abuse needs to not be hidden in the closet. The photos are out there. Perhaps seeing the photo may save someone who suffers in silence, someone who's afraid to report physical abuse.

It's photoshopped and touched up. He didn't beat her into oblivion like THAT. No. Fucking! WAY!!! He didn't. And I'm not going to believe this photo is integrally realistic until the people who have taken it say otherwise. For God's SAKE, it was on TMZ! There was a photo of Emzy (Eminem) last year that circulated and initially made it's way around TMZ where Eminem's cheeks looked inflated, when in reality, it was just a photoshopped distortion/touch-up made up by some loser who had nothing better to do. Wait to hear it from the real source, people! This sig is just a fig of your imago-neigh-shun

I see your point but shouldn't she have been the one to decide if the photo was made public...if she wants to carry the torch for abused women, it should be her choice...as much as this story has been sensationalized, it's easy to forget that there was a victim here and regardless of her celebrity she deserves privacy unless she chooses otherwise...

It doesn't look retouched and I doubt the LAPD would respond with a statement if it wasn't legit.

So as she continues with her life and career, she will have to revisit one horrible day in her life over and over as the press and the Internet will have that photo pop up here and there. There are plenty of woman who choose to be activists and display their sorrows to help others. ... Not have it thrust upon them. ( respectably stated.)

The LAPD has already confirmed it is legitimate and copied from their files.

I clicked on this thread only because I saw that Muse had posted and, sight unseen, I wanted to co-sign whatever she said. I refuse to even look at the photo.
This sort of thing circulating -- aside from Rihanna giving the go-ahead -- is uncalled for, IMO. It's not that I think the reality of abuse should be hidden. We should be starkly aware of it. But we've all heard the awful reports, seen countless horrid photos of battered souls and perhaps know personally of victims. (Some of us even are victims.) Is clandestinely seeing one more photo of this woman at such a dark moment going to change anything? I really doubt it. [Edited 2/20/09 20:36pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

It doesn't seem photoshopped to me. And I doubt there would be so much noise about it if it wasn't that serious of a beating.

I don't think it's fake. He beat the crap out of her. This was taken soon after. I bet she looked a lot worse in the next 2 days.
