I used to think it was a curse but its a blesing and a curse..it gives a dynamic to the place. You can see peoples' jealousy and praise (albeit anonymously). And yes it can be a bane to the place for many reasons. But if gone it can ruin some venacular or catch phrase.

Way back when, Disneyland used to sell tickets as part of their system. The A tickets were for kiddy rides, all the way up to the E tickets, which were for Space Mountain and Matterhorn etc..the catchphrase became "now thats an E ticket ride!" whenever something was cool or enjoyable. Thats what the ratings system could be-was. Folks could say "now thats a five star rating!" or "zero stars!"
