I hate clubs neutral I love dancing, but there are always annoying people at the clubs around where I live (*cough*guidos and guidettes*cough*) and that's enough for me to head to the bar or pub instead lol

Being 21 and living in the Bay Area, all my friends look at me sideways because I've never gone to a club, though I would like to

My problems with clubs are:
1. My friends mainly go to clubs to drink....but I don't drink. I'm a bboy and I love dancing so that would be my #1 reason for going, not smoking and getting drunk on overpriced liquor (my friend spent $150 in one night on drinks!)
2. strict as dress codes! I get those leaflets handed to me on a weekly basis due to people at my school AND some of my friends being club promoters and it's like WTF?
-No tennis shoes, but I'm constantly seeing my friends in pictures wearing Adidas and Vans
-No t-shirts, but....again, see above lol
3.Out here in the bay area, the main areas were clubs are San Francisco and San Jose with some in Oakland, Berkeley, and a couple in Concord. In SF, that's where the best clubs are but at least 40% of my friends who go to clubs have had something bad happen to them (car broken into, robbed at gunpoint outside...and INSIDE) so fuck that lol

Me neither! And it's even worse when the dancefloor is crowded without enough room to dance. I'm trying to avoid those places as much as possible.

Although I used to go clubbing a lot cuz I'm a dancing person.

Nowadays I only go to clubs when I'm organizing some events, otherwise I go to private parties if some friends rent a club or something...

And Prince parties in London now and then, I do confess dancing jig

Generally I like clubs and going out, but I'm finding I have less and less patience with the crap music that gets played in a lot of them. Which is a problem for me, because I go out to dance. I don't go out to hook up or meet new people, I want to be out there to DANCE!

I have got to start scoping out raves 'n' such, because even if the tunage is just a repetitive beat, it's still more danceable than a Britney remix. nod

Definitely not a club person.
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

i like funky little clubs that are unpretentious and let in a diverse crowd.

berlin in chicago on friday nights is great.

squeezebox in NYC was great when it was open.

a bad club, though...yeah, there's not much worse. i could be home watching a movie or reading or even SLEEPING, instead of spending tons of money to be miserable all night. pout

I was gonna say... it depends on the club. If the music's good and the right mix of people are there, there can be nothing better.

But I won't stand in line for the sake of standing in line, nor pay an exoritant amount ot get in. There really aren't clubs like that in Minneapolis anyway, and if they try to be, they don't last long. We don't put up with that pretentious BS in the midwest.

Before I met my partner I was always at the clubs (hanging out or for work, performing).

Now I'm a homebody.
I much rather have friends over for dinner parties, or bbq's and cocktails.

Only really hit a club for "Prince-folk" gatherings anymore.

I'm not into clubs at all. I find them so boring. All of it, the music, the atmosphere, the people, it does nothing for me. The darkness of the clubs makes me tired. Its especially a pain when they talk about having to dress a certain way or look a certain way just to get in the club, man please. If I need to jam that badly, I'll get my iPod. Besides, we're in a recession & I need my money! lol
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Yeah, I should say that this is pretty far long in my past. Now if I'm in one more than once a year it's a stretch.

SP pretty much described my feelings about clubs to a tee. I don't do them. Period. But what's really wonderful is that my friends don't do them either. The whole thing is fucking pretentious. The VIP areas, overpriced drinks and such. And most folks don't go there to meet people, they go to be seen and to hang around with people they already know. Give me a nice bar/lounge any day of the week over a club.

I got burned out on clubs a long time ago....and the past 12 years, that aversion has only gotten worse going to clubs in the towns that are right offbase and in the immediate vicinity of the base...women have to damned near wear body armor to keep the young troops at bay, and men have to go in ready to fight as soon as they go order the first round of drinks....

...I can't wait to get back to a place that has good live music spots....
