While I see the humor, I think the dad needed to do a better job of dealing with his son's obvious "bad" trip than picking up a camera and recording it.

The kid is freaking out.

Yeah, I kinda agree. It's hysterical, but a little bit exploitatitive. His scream at the 1 minute mark is serious.

yeah, i would've turned around and went back to the dentist/emergency. that kid wasn't having fun and i can totally relate because that's how i reacted the first time i came from under. i truly felt out of my body and nothing was real and a kid doesn't understand what's really going on in that state, i was constantly looking for my bearing. Now if my mom would have prepared me for the trip, it might have been a little bit more fun. "is this gonna be forever?" : lol :

you never know, he could have been a right pain and unco-operative in the chair
but yeah, he seems quite young to undergo serious treatment, unless he'd had an injury, like my son, where he fell and knocked his baby tooth into the gum and prevented the adult tooth from coming up. He was OK just with a local anaesthetic though, no need for weird drugs.

That's a good point. If this kid needed to be gassed, he must've had serious repairs to be done or must've been a little terror in the dentist's chair. Either way, he's so small and obviously quite effected by the nitrous oxide. I'm certainly no medical professional, but I wonder how good an idea it was not to admit him awhile for observation. confuse

My dad was a dentist, I don't think they use happy gas in this country, I never even heard of that! We just get a needle sad

i know..he could have been a terror, but i'm seeing him 5 sheets to the wind...
and he don't know which way is down... giggle
i hope he a serious issue,i would hate to think it was lack of attention...
growing up, that's what happened to me..i went into a foster home at 8..i was there for a year..it was the start of many trips to the dentist...
they had to drill and fill all 8 of my molars disbelief
lack of proper care...
neither of my sons had a cavity growing up..
my older son got his first at 20... disbelief

Everyone reacts differently to things like anesthesia or happy gas...my grandma only has to have the tiniest bit and she's off with the fairies. I had some to have my wisdom teeth out last year and while I was all floppy like him I was still very aware and able to talk...slowly biggrin
