Magnum P.I

Are there any hardcore Magnum P.I fans here on the org ?
I kind of miss that TV series and even though I have a box full of old VHS tapes of that series ( thanks to my short time landlady in St.Paul wink ) I really would like to know where I can watch Magnum online. It seems to be the only TV series that is almost impossible to find online. You can watch LOST, Nip/Tuck,well, pretty much any TV series online if you know where to go but for some strange reason, I really can´t find Magnum P.I anywhere...sure, there are websites with old episodes of Star Trek, 6 Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Hulk, whatever....but Magnum is like Prince´s vault material post 1997...very hard to find.
Why is that ? And do you know of any websites where I could watch some episodes ?

And what´s the deal with that Magnum movie that´s supposed to be in the works since forever . Some say Tom Selleck is still thinking about whether or not he should play Thomas Magnum again, some say George Clooney is going to be the next Magnum, other sources name other actors. The only thing that´s for certain seems to be that Roger Mosley (TC) and Larry Manetti ( Rick/Orwell Wright)and of course that guy who played Jonathan Higgins, the great John Hillerman, will be reprising their roles but other than that, I can´t really find much info.

Any film geeks in here who have the latest inside info ? Maybe ufoclub ?
And again, how come there are no Magnum episodes online ?

One of the best series ever, IMHO. I still think the greatest line ever spoken by any character on any TV show is, "Ivan? Did you see the sunrise today?"

If you watched Magnum, P.I., you know what I'm talking about.

I´ve seen every single episode but I can´t really recall off the top of my head which episode this was. It´s on the tip of my tongue though.

....but I do know about pickled eggs ! lol

Seriously though, I´m glad that there are more likeminded people out there who appreciate this series the way I do. It really had the best dialogues, and I liked how there was always some sort of background story to each character in it and how those stories intertwined. I really, really miss that series and I wish they had all continued a few more years but they stopped and left us wishing for more, unlike other series that become a parody of themselves over the years.

Oh, come on! It's the greatest Magnum episode ever!

It was a two-parter. It turns out this Russian KGB dude named Ivan had slipped drugs into TC when they were all POWs in Vietnam. It was a latent drug that turned TC into an assassin when he chewed a special gum that triggered the chemicals in the latent drug.

Ivan used it to get TC to kill some foreign leader.

A lot of other people got killed, and then Magnum and Ivan had a final show-down.

You've never seen this episode?

I won't ruin the ending for you, but you HAVE to find it. I still have a copy on VHS and if you can't find it anywhere else, orgnote me and I'll burn you a DVD of it.

Seriously, it is the GREATEST moment in Magnum history.

Thanks for the offer. I will look up the title of that episode and see if I have it in my box where all the other episodes are. I think I have seen it but I was very young back then, and , by the way, they did change and censor A LOT of episodes over here in Germany in the early 80s for various reasons, especially the Vietnam flashbacks and the more violent episodes. And one particular episode where an antisemite tries to kill a Jew and keeps saying "Jew!" Jew!" ....that simply got dubbed as " Du !Du!" ( i.e "You ! You!" ) because that was still a touchy subject for TV in Germany in the 80s.
Needless to say , a lot of episodes didn´t really make much sense then due to the censorship but when the series switched from ARD to RTL ( a private channel) , they kept the original versions intact, though they did not really show all episodes and they used other voices, which was irritating since most fans had already gotten used to the ARD dubbed voices ( in most other European countries, they just use subtitles instead of dubbing, which is better, IMO, though I have to admit that the Germans and the French really do a good job in that field).

Well, thanks for the info,it is highly appreciated, now I have to either
a) find that episode in my tape box
or
b) see if I can find it online
or
c) get back to you one day
wink

I must have seen it since it sounds familiar but I really can´t remember right now.

I'm glad this show came to be if for no other reason, it could have otherwise meant Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones.

You were at Hawaii???? I've been lucky so far, I've seen most of the shows shot here in Hawaii such as Hawaii 5-0, Magnum, Tour of Duty, Jake and the fat man, Island son (Anyone remember that one with Richard Chamberlin on CBS in 89???) Baywatch Hawaii and lost,
