There have been multiple lawsuits filed by fat motherfuckers who are suing McDonalds and the like because they are fucking fat asses! What happened to personal responsibility? Did Ronald fucking McDonald hold a gun to your fat fucking head and force you to eat 42 Big Mac burgers, 13 fish sandwiches, a shake, a super size order of fries and an order of Chicken McNuggets at lunch every day this week??? I don't think so!

I can see the next lawsuit... I am going to order 14 large pizzas from Pizza Hut and eat all of them, whereupon I will sue them for my massive weight gain... What the fuck were they thinking when they sold one guy all that fucking pizza??? That is total bullshit! They are responsible for my eating habits and they should NEVER sell that many pizzas to one guy!

Lawyers are responsible for this kind of bullshit. They figure out how to get around loop holes and then when there are no more loop holes, they create laws that in turn create MORE loopholes.

There have been frivolous lawsuits about all sorts of things that had nothing to do with weight, or even appearance, for that matter.
Look at the case that surfaced a few years ago about the woman who spilled hot coffee in her lap after going through a McDonald's drive thru. She sued because she said the coffee was 'too hot.' Well, everyone knows that coffee is hot and you should do your best not to spill it on your genitalia (unless you're into that sort of thing.)
Also a few years ago, a man in the midwest sued a school district because, while he was breaking into the school to rob it he fell from a skylight and broke his leg.

My poor stepdad hit an old man years ago. He was driving down the street and an old man walked right out in front of his car. The old man came out between 2 large trucks and there was no way my stepdad could have seen him until he was in the street. There were witnesses that saw that the old man just walked right in front of his car.

The old man sued my stepfather and my stepdad had to claim bankruptcy by the time the whole thing was done. I don't understand why people are rewarded for their idiocy.

actually, as i understand that case the plaintiff suffered third degree burns on her inner thighs which required skin grafts to heal. in other words, the coffee was boiling

also, the plaintiff in that action asked for medical expenses, she never asked for the amazing amount of money she was awarded, that money was PUNITIVE damages - punishment to macdonald's for failing to fix the hot coffee problem after having been warned about it numerous times before.

but as far as obesity being the fault of anyone other than the obese person - well... i dunno. personal responsibility and lifestyle choices have a LOT to do with it.

on the other hand, MN is a state where the dram shop law applies- a person who drinks too much at a bar then drives over an old lady and kills her can turn around and sue the bartender for having served the alcohol
