Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has a bone to pick with those who say her sister is looking a bit meatier than usual.

"I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister's weight," Simpson wrote Tuesday on her website. "A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman's weight or figure as a headline on Fox News."

Sure enough, Fox's website reported today that Jessica Simpson shocked fans Sunday at Radio 99.9 Kiss Country's Chili Cookoff in Pembroke Pines, Fla., with her "noticeably fuller figure" and had apparently "eased up on her fitness regimen a bit."

Hmmph, says Ashlee.

"All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you're a celebrity, there shouldn't be a different standard," the younger Simpson sis continued.

"Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend? I seriously doubt it. How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure? Now we can focus on the things that really matter."

Well, some of us can.

In response to the hullabaloo caused by, at worst, a pair of unflattering high-waisted jeans, Simpson's former trainer told Extra that Jessica Simpson is perfectly healthy and "has curves where a woman needs to have curves.

"We all go a little bit up and a little bit down," Hollywood trainer Harley Pasternak said. "But she's healthy. She's still sexy. She's still a beautiful woman. And I have no problem with the way she looks. I think if more people looked the way she looks now, the country would be a lot healthier."

Yes, she's gained weight but she's still foine. I think the outfit just wasn't flattering and she needs a more supportive bra. Plus the pockets on those jeans are making her look bigger. Other than that I don't see the big deal, everybody can't be a 0 and her weight has always fluctuated.

The only thing I see wrong is those trousers she has on. Those are bad. Other than that she is ok.

Actually...I think Jessica has performed a valuable public service. Since seeing these photos, I no longer feel so bad about my own back fat. Kudos to her for that.

Yeah, the pants aren't flattering. And neither are most of the camera angles.

But then when we're used to airbrushed, photoshopped myspace angles all around, what do we expect? Photos of people are becoming more and more inhuman looking every minute.

In any case, she's far from fat. She looks lovely.

That shocked fans? It's doesn't even put her in a different weight bracket as far as I can see . It's nowhere near Janet Jackson's weight gain. Janet's actually in the fat range right now, which I think she should stay in but toned up a bit. What's more disturbing isn't Jessica's barely noticeable weight gain, but Janet's starvation diets which bring her down to unnaturally skinny levels when shes touring, only to balloon again when she's not. She should really try 'curvy' when on tour and leave the yoga figure to Madonna. Pink is curvy and doesn't seem to be very apologetic about it.
But what is up with that outfit? Jessica should have chosen a more flattering outfit. What she's wearing wouldn't even flatter a skinny person.

I hate to agree with ASSlee Simpson, but she's right. Hell, I think Jessica looks BETTER with a bit of meat and potatoes on her frame.

I got kinda pissed off on Perez this morning over this. I think she is beautiful whether she is bigger or smaller. I guess we all have our standards of beauty. I personally prefer women with meat on them but that doesn't mean I go around hating on smaller women. What I DO hate, though, is the praise smaller women get and the hatred that easily comes when it's down to a size 14 and up. And yes, I know it goes both ways as I've had friends hated on for being skinny. People take things too seriously (I mean like gossip writers and so forth) when it comes to a celeb's weight because I guess since they're so rich, they're supposed to be perfect. But just like anyone else, they have the power to fall off or transform.

However...

I hate that outfit. I don't know why those ugly jeans that my mom and her sisters used to wear are back in fashion. I just want to burn them all. She's a bombshell and there's a way to work with the new curves. Maybe she's just learning how to feel good in her skin.

I'm glad her sis stuck up for her. I don't care what kind of surgery she's had. Her little blog made a valid point.
