A tidy up station at supermarket checkout lanes?

I would like to see an extra station added to all checkout lanes at supermarkets, so that upon receiving change and receipt, the customer can be guided to the next station, where they can put away their money, change purse, zip purse, etc. I can't tell you how many times I have gotten stuck behind someone who has to go through several steps before they're ready to leave, and sometimes I get through the checkout lane before the customer before me has even picked up their bags. I also love it when I let them know politely that I have to use the transaction machine - they seem a bit amazed that there's someone waiting in line behind them.

I find it interesting that U mention that. I always feel that it's impolite that people can't wait TWO SECONDS for me to put away my money before they're hemming and hawing like it took an hour. rolleyes People are always in a rush and want everything NOW. I don't know how many times I've felt like I've needed to leave with my change in my hand, or I just threw it in the bottom of my purse because someone was sigh behind me like I was driving 25 in the fast lane.
That happened last night at Pathmark. Before I could retrieve my change from the tray at the self-checkout, the guy behind me was on my back, so I threw my change down in my purse instead of putting it in my wallet. I hate pushy people. sad

don't cha just love the ones who push their cart into your butt or worse,
into your heels?? BEFORE the cashier has even returned your change??!!
they did that to my mom,and i pushed the cart right back at them, and said
enough already, you're hitting my mom! it was accompanied by a dirty look..

2 or 3 seconds is one thing, but like I said, if I'm completely done with my transaction and out of the line before you've even picked up your bags, then the problem might not lie with me (and I've actually seen this happen a lot). I don't want everything now, and I often champion the case for NOT having instant gratification, but surely you realize that there's a flow to things, even in the supermarket - don't we get caught in enough traffic jams on the freeway?

you should go shop at ALdi! the checkout staff get you away from their station in seconds flat - mind you you do have to pack your own groceries into bags, but there IS a station for that, so I guess people do their tidying up there too lol

nod
While U're standing in line, U know what day it is, U know what store U're in, so fill that stuff out! Then all U have to do is fill in the amount. I hate when the person doesn't even take the checkbook OUT until the cashier is done. mad

Oh, no - they can't do that! They have to wait 'til they're up where they have the little desk to write on. Otherwise, if they try to fill the check out ahead of time, it won't be all nice and neat, and the check police will come after them! no no no!

lol
