Mixed Salad..... Stowaways found hidden in lettuce Eighteen stowaways bound for Britain have been found hidden in a lorry load of lettuce. Skip related content Related photos / videos Stowaways found hidden in lettuce Border Agency officials became suspicious of the Spanish-registered lorry when it stopped at Calais. A search revealed 15 Iraqis, two Afghans and an Iranian hidden in the load of green-leafed vegetables. The lorry was heading for Knowsley, Merseyside, but was stopped before it could board a ferry across the channel. A UK Border Agency spokesman said the potential illegal immigrants were handed over to the French authorities. He said: "There are hundreds of UK Border Agency officers based at ports in France and Belgium, working to stop illegal immigrants before they get to the UK. "Our highly successful juxtaposed controls have strengthened our borders and continue to prevent illegal migrants from entering the UK, stopping over 24,000 attempts to enter the UK over the last year - six thousand more than the previous year. "In addition to visual searches, we also use carbon dioxide detectors, heart beat detectors, and sniffer dogs to find well hidden stowaways." http://uk.news.yahoo.com/...f21e0.html It's amazing what you find in your veg these days

Exact same thing happened to me last year. Except I was in a restaurant and it wasn't 18 illegal immigrants, it was a slug.
Spooky! | |

I think we're all thinking the same thing:
If you were stuck in this truck for several weeks and had to eat some of your fellow stowaways, what would be your dressing of choice?

So, "squishy" wouldn't be a good thing here? Well, no, I'd think human weight would suffocatingly sink... or you know, wilt.... Well, wilting can never be good!
