I learned a similar way to save, but a little faster.
It involves saving $1 bills instead of change. You're not allowed to spend them, except as a tip if necessary. So you always have to break a 5 or a 20 even if you have $2 for the coke. Those ones add up quick, and they're easy to deposit in the bank or spend if necessary. But I have a change jar, too. What else am I going to do with the change? I bring it to coinstar, it's a good way to get groceries with mostly pennies. I'll spend the 10% for a machine to count them. My Legacy
