Yeah, I think sometimes that can be true and others not at ALL. There are alcoholics who become comepletely different people when they drink and I don't believe the drunk personna is their "true character" at all.

I take your point - alcoholics are a special case as they've got an addiction and that leads to all sorts of irrational behaviour.

I meant the average person who gets drunk and starts fights, steals things, cheats on or abuses their significant other - that kind of stuff - and then tries to explain it away.

And nasty as opposed to stupid, as we've probably all done stooopid things when drunk. I certainly have. biggrin (Nothing too nasty though)

Oh, that I get.

And I think getting stupidly drunk a few times in our lives teaches us important lessons in humility. lol

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Not a saying but a story, but it's been on my mind lately, the punch line.

Its kinda like "Still waters run deep" if you look at it from my view nod

Arabic proverbs cut like a slaughterhouse's knife, man disbelief this one has always rang true...

اذا اكرمت الكريم ملكته واذا اكرمت اللئيم تمردا

So many good deeds I have done to some people and ended up being taken advantage of, and also the other way around, so many good deeds I have done to some people and ended up with friends for LIFE nod

When I told my Somali grandmother about a certain triflin' cousin who fucked me up when I did a GOOD thing for him, thats what she said to me,,,,it hit me on my chest like a brick. I'm always dramatic lol its no wonder why I react to Arabic proverbs so emotionally lol
