A US supermarket has refused to inscribe a birthday cake for a toddler named Adolf Hitler.

New Jersey couple Heath and Deborah Campbell wanted to mark their son Adolf Hitler Campbell's third birthday with a cake from supermarket chain ShopRite.

But the store refused to inscribe the toddler's cake for the family, who are Holocaust deniers and have swastikas in every room of their house.

"We believe the request ... to inscribe a birthday wish to Adolf Hitler is inappropriate," Lehigh Valley Live News reported a ShopRite spokesperson as saying.

But Adolf's parents have described the supermarket's denial as "sad".

"Other kids get their cake. I get a hard time," Heath Campbell, 35, said. "It's not fair to my children." The chain offered to leave the cake blank for the Campbells to decorate themselves, but the family rejected the offer.

Their two younger daughters also appear likely to cause similar problems down the track.

JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, who is named after notorious Schutzstaffel head Heinrich Himmler, will turn two and one early next year.

ShopRite has already stated they will not make a cake for JoyceLynn.

Fellow supermarket chain Wal-Mart now appears set to create Adolf's cake.

"Our No. 1 priority in decorating cakes is to serve the customer to the best of our ability," a Wal-Mart spokesperson said.

The Campbells, who are both unemployed due to alleged disabilities, deny they are damaging their children or setting them up for harassment at school.

"They say, 'He (Hitler) killed all those people' ... I say, 'You're living in the wrong decade. That Hitler's gone'," Mr Campbell said.

"Yeah, they [Nazis] were bad people back then but my kids are little — they're not going to grow up like that.

"Other kids get their cake, I get a hard time."

He's right, it's not fair to the kids.

Not fair that they were born to scumbags.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Good for that store. Finally someone who believes some values are more important than money.

Amen! I applaud the decision. I'm not sure what your personal thoughts are Maddy girl and I love ya but The parents are some twisted sick fucks to name their children after the most notorious sick fuck serial killer in world history. Not to mention there is no such thing as arian in anyone's reality but Hitler's and his dumb fuck followers. (living and or dead)

....and just what sort of life does this little one have in school? Can you imagine the ostracism then? I can only hope CPS steps in before its to late.

That said, another reason to dislike Wal mart!

It isn't fair to the kids to be punished for their idiot parents, but their parents used their kids to make a statement and to draw attention to their beliefs. So, you reap what you sow I guess.

The parents have no right to bitch. They should have known better.

It's sad enough that these people are so hateful, but to exploit their children as political statements and raise them this way astounds me.

Those children are in desperate need for a liberal gay couple to adopt them.

Just sayin'

The sad thing is that if any of the children are lucky enough to grow out of that hateful mentality, they'll always have that written on their birth certificate and just about every official government document they request--even after legally changing their names.

So sad.

Yeah. I agree. God...I've said it a thousand times. You have to have a license for just about everything BUT having a kid.

they could have had just the "regular" names put on those cakes..who puts an entire name on a cake anyway? to ask for all of their full names, with names like that just seems to be shoving their beliefs in people's faces...they are doing it to make a statement, not for the children.

I thought there were names that are banned. Meaning you're not allowed naming your kid all kinds of names, no? If so, wouldn't that name be on the list?

Not really fair to the kid not to get his cake just because his parents are crackpots though. Surely the store could have written "Happy Birthday, A." or something to that effect?

yup.

Try applying for a passport. It'll ask you what your BIRTH NAME was.
Then I think there's a field for your legally changed name or something.

Not in North America. Banning certain names from use is more an Asian and European practice.

The store could have yes. But, I bet the parents would not have been happy with that. It's so obvious they're using their children to make a statement about their personal beliefs. Dumb asses named their kid after a person whose name is synonymous with hate and horror. He is the sole reason while millions of Jews were killed and tortured. He knew exactly what he was doing when he named those kids and he knew that it would cause a controversy.

Idiot.

Poor kids. That is so sad. Can you imagine the discrimination they'll face? Try explaining why your parents named you this.

Unfortunately they'll most likely be brought up believing this hateful message and so they probably will grow up just as idiotic as their parents.

Well, it should be banned everywhere. Just like some words are considered offensive because of their use in the past, it should be the same with names.

Don't get me wrong. The name that appears on your passport will be your new name--just like when you marry and take on a new surname.

But when you fill the paperwork out for the passport, and many other government documents, you'll always be burdened with having to tell them your birth name.

Well, the child wasn't denied a birthday cake. The store offered to sell the parents a plain cake and then the parents could write the child's name on it. The store basically just put their foot down and said that they wouldn't write the name. I think it was probably done out of principle and not intended to hurt the child. If anyone should be blamed for causing this child misery it should be his parents.

If the parents wanted their child to be happy why did they make such a big deal about it? Why not just make your own damn cake. Geez louise. lol
