Men, are you intimidated by a woman who has her own?

I was talking to a friend a while back and he said to me that some guys may be intimidated by me because they can't give me anything/do anything for me (I have my own money, car, home, etc.). I countered with they can give me love and companionship.

Do guys still want a woman they can take care of? Do guys have a problem with a chick that makes more than them? Do some guys want their women to stay home?

No, no and no.

In today's day and age I can't afford a house unless the girl I plan to commit myself to has a good job of her own.

And I sure as hell don't want her to stay home. If anything, let me stay home, but I'd rather we're both earning income to make our lives better.

A woman to take care of? Well, I want to be able to give to my mate, whatever that may mean, but I want a woman who would want to give back as well.

That's wonderful...but from what I have seen, you're in the minority.

Many guys talk the talk but when it really comes down to it...they don't really mean it. Again, from what I have seen.

As long as she doesn't have her own penis, I'm cool.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

It would be more of a loan rather than just having it. I would need it back.

All guys say they're cool with it, but most become threatened by her financial independence eventually, due to the reversal in the "traditional" roles IMO. shrug

I think most men today expect a spouse/partner that is employed, educated, etc., however, the real issues arise if the female makes substantially more than the man. Initially, they'll be supportive but many guys can't handle that and start with all kinds of passive agressive behavior to undermine or criticize the female. It's odd. confused

I have 2 nieces that are 31, drop dead gorgeous professionals, they own a home (together) not just any home, a fancy dancy, frou frou kinda home. HUGE! Plus plenty of money in the bank, and they love to travel around the world. Do they have a man in their world, no. Why? Most men are intimidated by them. mad

I just dropped somebody recently becasue of this very subject!!! Dude was always getting mad becasue I travel, work, pay my own bills and have credit in my own name.

Yet and still he was always critizing me and undermining me but he never wanted to fork over any money to go anywhere to do anything, and he owns his own business!!!!! confused

The last straw came when he didn't get me anything for Christmas so I sent all his shit back and some of it I am selling on E-bay right now!!! cool

I want a partner in every sense of the word but I am not going to take care of a grown ass man under ANY circumstances. I learned to be independent becasue I have never had a man other than Pro do anything for me!!!

Seriously I mean WTF??!!! I bought him cd's and stuff that he wanted when we first started out friendship. Then he started wanting to control my time, cut me off from my friends, and get mad about me working ovetime!!!

I told him to get a grip or get the fuck on!!! I have a 88 yr old Grandmother depending on me as well. You are not paying my bills or making a significant contribution to my life or well being to think you can run me like that!!!

It is okay becasue the best revenge is living well and doing the right things in life!!! biggrin

Men who are intimidated by what is important in a relationship might be intimidated by not being able to give material gifts. It leaves them open to only having one type of thing left to give.

I still can't believe there are men who give women a house.

I want a house.

Traditionally, the man takes care of the woman. Or if the woman is working, when she gets married, the man wants her to stay home and take care of the home.

I appreciate the responses on this thread, you guys. clapping
