THE NPGMC

Hi Everybody,

I wanted to express myself about the NPGMC and I think some you won't like this message.

I am for the freedom of the music and the eguality between all the fans, which seems to be against the conception of the music given by the NPGMC.

At the beginning of the 90's, Prince prentends to be a "SLAVE" with a lack of freedom... His music has always been available for EVERYBODY and there was a complete eguality between all the fans. In 1999, it is the release of RAVE UN2 THE JOY FANTASTIC AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO NE "normal".

A little while later, thee websitesite 1800newfunk.com becomes the "NPGMC" and peopls start talking about a membership to be able to download some exclusive mp3's (the first year, year 2001).

At this point, what seemed to be a community becomes the creation of two clans : the members, and the other fans who don't have a memberhsip. Only people having internet and those who are members can get his music.

The first year is good money for Mister Prince and he launches the second one...

There, some fans will get MORE music (soundchecks
et aftershow) and priviledges for them ONLY (the members).

The image of "community" is torn apart ! Prince music is now ONLY for the NPGMC.

Even if we are all fans, we MUST realize there is no eguality between fans... I don't know any artist who has released an albums only for a minority. And, in addition, i don't know what is the point for him (this doesn't help him to spread his music) ...

The easiest to notice was at the entrance of the concerts when fans have to be seperated in two clans : the members and those who are not members for various reasons.

The worst is when, during the concerts, he seems to talk only to the NPGMC... as if the others fans who are not members did NOT exist.

Oui, je suis fan. J'aime sa musique mais sa politique commerciale.

Many fans who did not have internet and did not hear of the npgmc where very disappointed to hear about all that. Knowing the album promoting the tour was only a minority ...

Here it is, i wanted to express myself about all that, in place where there is no seperation between and members and those who are not members.

Bertrand

PS : According to me, having to subscribe to a club for 100 $ to get an album (ONE NITE ALBM) is unbelievable me. Never seen before, i don't have to do that to get Bruce Springsteen's latest album.

means

"Yes, i am a fan, i like the music but not the way he is spreading it now."

Yes wrong forum, but bloody good point. I am not a member because I don't have internet access at my home (she says, typing fast because boss is on his way up the stairs) so I always figured that it wouldn't be worth the money (not that I have a great deal of that at the moment either!)

P actually got all the members down the front at one of the London shows to chant "Join the Club" at the rest of us. Can't P! No sodding computer you little fucker! Now give me some CDs!
