New Power Rankings:
1. L.A. Lakers
2. Cleveland
3. Boston
4. Orlando
5. San Antonio

Just for this week, I'd put the Spurs ahead of the C's. Overall, I think the defending champs are the best team in the NBA until proven otherwise. As much of a Laker fan as I am, you gotta beat the men to be the men, and that's 4 months away unless somebody beats either of them first.

San Antonio is closing the gap on the top 4 for sure. If they have another great week, they might break in.

Thank goodness in a real sport these rankings DON'T matter.

Indeed! That's why college football is deeply flawed.

My sixers are playing better ball without elton brand and
were playing better without him. Hopefully they can fit this
guy into the lineup without sacrificing their uptempo game next season.
The sixers were a huge disappointment earlier in the season.

Changing the chemistry of the team and trying to fit Elton in caused a lot of that. I'd bet if they'd gotten a full season under their belt they would have improved with him, and would have been even better in 09-10.

That being said, they're playing well. For a couple of years now, hey've had a style of play that mixes the hard-nosed East and fast-tempo West.

I think they were harsh on Rudy's dunks. Nate was the only one who really did consistently nice and difficult dunks (that step on the back one not so much). It's too easy for Dwight to dunk on a 12 ft rim. Shoulda been 13ft at least. LeBron said he could do that, and hopefully he'll keep his word and compete next year. smile

The last dunker to really come into the competition and do something new was Vince Carter back in 2000, I haven't seen anything that was even close to him the rest of this decade.

The three point shoot-out needs Ray Allen, Dirk and more pure shooters with star power to make it interesting again.

I think they need to move the Rookies vs. Sophmores game to the main event slot on All Star Saturday night, in today's NBA it's more intersting then any of that stuff they put on tonight.

I meant to ask ya'll two All Star Questions:

1.What's your favorite All Star Game of all time?
2.What's your favorite play in All Star History?

My game has to be the 1987 game in Seattle when Rolando Blackmon hit the free throws to send it to OT, it was a great game.

There's alot of plays I hit the rewind button on in my collection:

Magic's no look, behind the shoulder pass on the break to Hakeem in the 1988 game

Barkley serving up a facial to Mutumbo in the 1992 Game

Ewing serving up a facial to Mr. Robinson in the 1991 game

Magic giving Buck Williams a facial in the 1982 game

but my favorite play has to be Dr. J's tomahawk one handed slam on Artis Gilmore in the 1983 game, he damn near took off from the free throw line on him, lol!!

Abdul: my 2 favorite moments in All-Star history --

1. Magic's return in the 1992 game.

2. Shaq's absolutely vicious posterization of David Robinson in what I believe was the 1996 All-Star Game.
