I've heard she's confused, but on the plus side, still a human being.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Ellen DeGeneres Show donations cheer S.B. tots

December 24, 2008 7:26 AM

To 5-year-old Ian Olitzky, a boy who lost his home in the Tea Fire, Ellen DeGeneres is best known for lending her voice to the animated fish Dory in the movie "Finding Nemo."

But with the more than 3,500 toys provided by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," to the American Red Cross Santa Barbara County Chapter to distribute on Tuesday, she is also guaranteeing Ian and many other children affected by the blaze will have gifts to unwrap for the holidays.

A series of tables in a training room in the Red Cross chapter headquarters on State Street were overflowing with gifts, including kid favorites like skateboards, Batman action figures, Barbie dolls and plenty of board games. The gifts could even be wrapped at a nearby station.

Although the selection surprised many parents who walked into the room, it was a fraction of what was provided throughout the state, as Ms. DeGeneres wanted to assist victims from all recent Southern California fires, Red Cross Director of Emergency Services Louise Kolbert said.

Ms. Kolbert recalled that when she was 11 years old, her own home burned down, and the Christmas that soon followed was very difficult, as she remembered all the things she lost.

"Hopefully some of these things that are in here are things that they had that they can replace, and so, it probably means the world to them because it will give them some sense of normalcy and some of their past will be given back to them," Ms. Kolbert said.

About 150 of the 230 families impacted by the blaze were identified as having children, and they were invited to come by and pick eight to 10 gifts per child, but most were choosing five to six, Ms. Kolbert said.

However, others who were affected -- like families that were dependent on the area for their jobs, such as gardeners and domestic help -- were welcomed as well.

If Ms. DeGeneres was there on Tuesday, Ian said he would have greeted her with a warm "Thank you." As for the holidays, he said he is most looking forward to the decorations, and when asked what he thought he would get, he took his best guess: "Robot?"

For "Tea Fire survivor" Jenelle Ford, who was there taking a look at gifts for her 10- and 17-year-old sons, Christmas shopping had been difficult in that it felt like she was replacing what had been lost.

"Mentally, that kind of puts a whole different spin on it," she said. "For me, the hardest thing is just the amount of time this is taking. It's just, I want my life back. I don't care that I lost the house. I'm glad my family's safe; that's a huge blessing. It's just, I want all my time back. ... It's just a lot of work."

She was grateful and excited when she got a call about the event, but she was even more surprised when she saw what was available.

"I thought it would just be a few piddly little things, and it ends up being a toy store. I mean it's a virtual toy store with everything you could possibly ask for."

Brianna Hammond was picking out presents with her youngest son Cason, who was 10 days old when the family's home was lost, and she was glad she was finding toys that her 3-year-old son had lost and was asking for.

"It's really nice to be able to walk in here and pick up some of those things," she said.

Of the room of toys, Ms. Hammond said "I'm pretty overwhelmed right now just looking at it. There's so much to choose from. It's very generous."

With local schools closed as of Friday for winter break, the Red Cross was chosen to distribute the gifts as it had the biggest facility and had the case files for the affected families.

Ms. Kolbert first heard on Thursday that the presents were going to be donated, and although the Red Cross was expecting two pallets, 10 were delivered on Friday, she said. About 15 volunteers worked on Monday to set up the room, where the toys were organized by age group.

Any gifts that were not whisked away to a new home on Tuesday were to be given to other organizations associated with VOAD -- Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster -- such as the Salvation Army.

Ya know, I used to like Ellen way back in the day, but her shtick just wore thin with me and I have a hard time watching any "regular" celebrity interviews anymore (once you've heard Stern do 'em, you realize how bullshit-ridden all the others are).

That said, I saw that clip where she went caroling with Britney Spears and I laughed out loud when she said, "It's Britney, bitch." falloff

I sooooo did not want to ever see her boobies and I still feel a little traumatized after seeing them in If These Wall Could Talk 2. There was just something so wrong about that.

Other than that, I used to think she was really funny, but I haven't really enjoyed her comedy in the past 10 years or so. Her show can be good at times, though.

her stand-up is GENIUS. a little 'lowest common denominator' for me, but genius none the less.

i tivo the show and i like it, although it's a little too benign for me to love it. sometimes it has some geniunely hilarious moments. the britney caroling was funny

No. She is the biggest bitch. And I've met plenty. My experience with her was on a business level and man her shtick disintegrates right before your eyes.

lol

I guess "phony" and "hollywood" in the same sentence is redundant. And I'm sure the competition for that title of 'biggest bitch' is pretty strong in L.A.
