Carrie, Chicago didn't get snow yesterday, but we did get snow on Monday. It looks like Boston is beating Chicago in snow.

Didn't your area get very little snow last year? I recall hearing that in Dec of last year Boston had no measurable snow. It is just evening out.

I don't want it to even out!!! I hope this is it for the season, bring summer back!

We got our first snow that actually stuck yesterday. It sucked. I'm not much on snow.

I'd heard we were supposed to get 2-5 inches Wednesday, and over Tuesday night, etc. So I wake up yesterday morning, look out the window, nothing. Not a bit of snow. So, thinking there was school, I went on and got ready. Got all showered, put some clothes on, and I was out the door ready to catch the bus. I walked out to the end of the road, and stood there.

Must've been about 5 minutes, and I see the first snowflakes coming down. I'm also getting quite a bit annoyed, as I'd left the house 2 minutes later than usual cuz I couldn't find my shoes. It was 6:20 when I left. My walk to the bus is 2 1/2 minutes. The bus usually comes at 6:25 or so. It was 6:27. I was growing impatient, and not to mention, cold!

I wait 5 more minutes. No bus. I look around, and down the road next to mine, no kids are standin' out. So I think, "Well, maybe they're just not goin' today." But the I realize, no one's outside. But then I figure, "Perhaps it's just too cold for them, and they're waiting inside until it comes." I wish I could do that.

So then 5 more minutes pass. It's snowing. It's stickin' to me, and everything around me. So I'm thinkin', "Well, that's good. I'll get to come home early today regardless!"

5 more minutes. I decided it was getting too damn cold to wait for the bus, and everyone else must know something I didn't. So, I figured I'd wait 5 more minutes. No bus. I began walking home.

Halfway through my walk, it really came down. Snow everywhere, couldn't hardly see where I was going! And it was sticking to the road. My roof was covered by the time I got home. I flipped on the radio. I heard no cancellation of school. So, I went in and woke up my father and told him he was going to have to take me.

Then, 10 minutes later, the damn radio finally said, "No school in Russell County." Took them long enough. They had called it off earlier that morning, because there was a "threat" of snow. Only in rural KY can you get out of school when there's just a threat of snow!

So they went on and called it off for today too, and I'm figuring, lookin' outside, it'll be out tomorrow as well.
