As a black man, Tiger knows that he would not have been able to do what he has done were it not for someone before him having fought the exclusionary practices of golf courses/country clubs with regard to race.

Having benefited from the destruction of those barriers, and then remaining SILENT on the same issue with regards to gender means to me that while he may be a great golf player, that is all he will ever be.

I would never hold such a man up to my children as a role model, unless they want to play golf, because I would want my children to grow up to be PRINCIPLED people who stand for something.
