Well, the child wasn't denied a birthday cake. The store offered to sell the parents a plain cake and then the parents could write the child's name on it. The store basically just put their foot down and said that they wouldn't write the name. I think it was probably done out of principle and not intended to hurt the child. If anyone should be blamed for causing this child misery it should be his parents.

If the parents wanted their child to be happy why did they make such a big deal about it? Why not just make your own damn cake. Geez louise. lol

Becuase they, like most bigots, are attention whores.

I can't understand it is allowed to name your child so in the US. Here in Hoilland they'd be refused to name a kid like that.

I think Shoprite are out of order. I had the exact same problem getting a cake for my little girl, Delilah Sunshine Death To All Jews McMeekle.

It's not her fault, why should she suffer. She's only three. disbelief

And here in Austria they would not be allowed to deny the Holocoust or to have swastikas in their home either.

what's not fair to her children is that the government allowed these
sad fucks of parents to 1) name their children thus and 2) to teach
their children these sad delusional views that will cause them to be
singled out as they grow up.

Exactly.

Honszlyn Hinler ? At least they could look up how to spell Himmler correctly before they give their kids stupid names. Adolf is a perfectly normal name, though a tad old fashioned. It´s the combination I have a problem with, and the intentions behind it.Adidas founder Adi Dassler´s first name was also Adolf, hence the ADI part in ADIDAS. Sure, you automatically think of Hitler, the most famous Adolf but that doesn´t necessarily make Adolf a "racist" name.Still a bad choice for a name though.

I don't have a problem with the name Adolf either, and it IS the combination that is disturbing. You usually name your kids after someone you admire. And there's nothing to admire about once of the worlds most cruel, racist killers.

The store could have yes. But, I bet the parents would not have been happy with that. It's so obvious they're using their children to make a statement about their personal beliefs. Dumb asses named their kid after a person whose name is synonymous with hate and horror. He is the sole reason while millions of Jews were killed and tortured. He knew exactly what he was doing when he named those kids and he knew that it would cause a controversy.

Idiot.

Oh, the dad definitely knew what he was doing.

I just don't think it's fair to deny the kid a birthday cake, no matter how much of an asshat his old man is.

I might have to go back and read this again, but wasn't the issue that they didn't deny selling them the cake, rather than refuse to inscribe it? Homegirl could have had her baby's cake and put the name on herself.

Additionally, (just to play devil's advocate for a sec) there is no law or tradition written in stone that says a person has to celebrate a birthday with a birthday cake. The child would not even be aware of the cake tradition and/or ensuing issue unless the parent chose to introduce the tradition...and at age 2, I wonder how cognizant they would be of it. If they want to get into the birthday cake thing, I don't see why mom can't just get a box of Duncan Hines and a squeezy tube of frosting to decorate her loved filled cake for the baby. Just sayin'...

I think most kids rebel against their parents at least to some degree. Look at the number of boring yuppies that were raised by hippies, for example.

With any luck these dumb fucks' children will grow up to have more sense than Ma & Pa do.

The store did offer to sell a plain cake and let the parents decorate it themselves, but they refused. They caused a big stink about it in order to draw attention to their ignorant selves, and now the kid doesn't get a cake.
